2005 Volkswagen transporter van 2.5l TDI auto.? lack of power, it starts ok every time however vehicle is very lazy on takeoff as well as normal driving, there are no fault codes at all, turbo ok, intake/exhaust system checked for leaks ok, fuel delivery up to specs. unit injector and back pressure after injectors up to specs, swapped air flow meter with a good unit made no difference, there are no excessive smoke at the tail pipe, we checked the compression well within the upper limits of the specified ideal operation pressure can't figure out what is wrong with this vehicle can any body help with that??? (we suspect that this problem developed after replacement of short block, we can't be sure about the way this vehicle drove before as it came in on a tow truck) any comment's or ideas to guide us to the right path will be welcome Thanks.... timing is ok as there are special tools to time up the engine and they fit just fine at the designated position of cam and crank shafts.

What is the best way to protect a car that you are towing? We are using a U-Haul auto transporter. It will be pulled behind a large motorhome., on the freeway. Can a leak in the gas tank enter the cabin of a Subaru Imperza? I just transported my car across the country. I noticed a gas-like smell to the car the day it was delivered. The next day I was driving it and the smell was still there and was strong. I looked in the back seat and the floor behind the passenger side seat was soaked with gasoline. How do I remove this from my back window (of my car)? Last year, my car was transported on the back of an auto transporter truck. The trucking company used something looking like white chalk to write a reference number on the back window of the car. It might be oil based like a grease pencil. My 97 Volkswagen Transporter has an intermittent stopping problem - any suggestions?? My 97 VW Transporter intermittently stops. This usually occurs within the first 15 minutes of running, but not always. It goes through periods of a couple of thousand kms where it's fine. Other times it will stop several times over 20 kms. The more regularly it's driven, the worse the problem seems to become. The engine just cuts out and the oil light starts flashing although the oil level is fine. If it's still moving/rolling, I can often flick the key back one click and on again, and the engine will jump back to life. If I come to a complete stop and try to restart, it will usually take around 5 minutes before it will start. When it has restarted, it will often have trouble changing gears (auto) for the next 15 minutes. Some times it has been stuck in first and unable to change up. I've had this checked out 3 times by 2 different VW dealers who haven't been able to find anything wrong. Any help or suggestions as to what might be wrong are GREATLY appreciated!

Why don't people tip Tow Truck Drivers? Why do commuters disrespect big trucks so much? People should tip auto transporters always, they don't get paid much and the are taking care of your car. Whether its a break down, or new car delivery, because for however many miles he has driven he has been concerned for the saftey of your vehicle. People commuting always cut in front of big trucks and brake or ride the shoulder to pass at onramps, or cut over three lanes to exit. Does anyone care that they are driving like complete idiots and are making traffic worse for everybody? Is anyone paying attention?

I recently joined an industry that I think is practicing unfair business? I am working in the auto transport business as an auto transporter, picking up reposessed and lease returns and delivering them to the local auto auction house for a fee. About 5 months ago the auction began taking a 15% "Discount" off of our fee if they pay our invoices within 2 weeks. My company has paid roughly $35,000 in "discounts". Talking to auction employees and other transporters, the 15% is not applied to all transporters. The biggest transporter company objected to the fee and the auction stopped charging them. My company is small and because we are afraid of losing our entire business if "blacklisted" by the auction we have bitten our lips and paid the fee, or rather have allowed to have it removed from our payment checks with only mild protest. My questions are first, the transportation fees are paid by finance companys that own the cars, not by the auction. Do they know the auction is taking a 15%? Second since it is not uniformly applied, is it not an unfair practice? The 15% fee could not hit at a worse time, with fuel at all time highs and already bare bones payment rates, we are in definite danger of going out of business. What can we do? I thought of going to management, but again if we make them angry they simply wont consign any cars for us to move and we're done. Ay advice? Is what they are doing illegal? (we're in CA). The crazy way the industry works, we have no contract - none of the transporters is on contract that I know of. We are considered "vendors" independent of the auction house. Towing Question Regarding Ford f-150? I recently made arrangements with u-haul to rent an auto transporter to tow my ford f-150 back from Oklahoma to Arizona. When i went to get it all of a sudden they said i couldnt tow the f-150 on their transporters cause its too long. (after they had already approved it over the phone) so my question is does anyone know a company here in phx arizona area that has an auto transporter long enough for my ford. Hi, recently I placed an order with a auto transport agency called National Auto Transporter (NAT) and was assured that my car would be shipped by last sunday (06/22/2008) which was not done. Infact the car was not picked up yet . They did not charge my credit card though, which is good. However, they were not responding me when I tried to reach them unless I threatened that I would cancel my order. I went through many reviews and found that this company is a fraud one and had many complaints against them. Now I have determined to cancel my order and on a safer side I cancelled my credit card even. But as per the agreement with this transport company, If I have to cancel my order for any reasons, I need to forfeit the advanced amount USD 230 (Yet to be charged to my credit card). However, they can't charge my card as it is no longer valid. But I wanted to check, if the transport company can go against me legally. Some one suggest me the legal issues associated with this case. What can you do for widowed homemakers who raise children for 30 years who need to retire? I gave up my life to raise my daughters alone after their father passed. I found myself working 2 and 3 jobs simultaneously to make ends meet all the while bill collectors and prices continued to rise and the IRS never let up. I received minimal tax returns and survivor social security ended as soon as the girls turned finished high school to include my benefit ceased when the youngest turned 16 and since I never had extra money I could not go bankrupt all I could do is stop paying. I did nothing to afflict myself or our lives with such hardship but now that I am 50 I cannot retire because there is no financial support. During those years working 2 and 3 jobs I was also studying so I am able to work but daily pains make the work day unbearable. I did not have every other weekend off and I raised 3 very hard working daughters who would like to send money home but find it difficult. I appreciate the attempts and assistance to help the poor but I deserve my schools loans to be forgiven and for some federal support so that I may retire rest. Before the howling begins, I was left to be mother, father, babysitter, maid, transporter, lawn care, auto care, home repair, therapist, educate, cook, shop, advocate, wage earner, and so much more that I cannot mention to completion. Car Repossesed, After Payment Asset Company Can't Recover Vehicle. I have a VERY complex situation. My car was repo'd, then approximately 24 hours after this I made the full payment. After 3 days my lien holder (Fifth Third Bank) released the vehicle and faxed the release to the repo company(ASR Nationwide) and transporters (Progressive Asset Recovery) of my vehicle. The transporters then called me to let me know that the vehicle was moved to an auto auction(Manheim Auto Auction) and it would take a day for them to bring my car back. I found this wrong since I made the payment within 24 hours of it being repo'd. They took the trip to pick up my vehicle from the auto auction and called me later saying that the auto auction refused to give me my vehicle because THURSDAY was their "sale date" and the transporting company would need to come back on friday. Friday they drove down to pick up my car and this time the excuse was that they don't release vehicles on Friday - even though they told the transporters they could the day before. My lien holder, the repo company, and the transporters are sending emails and calling like crazy to get my car back. I just recently sent and called a few general managers and customer relation people myself, but....HAS ANY ONE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE??? ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW A LAW FIRM OR LAWYER IN MICHIGAN THAT COULD HELP?? I NEED TO KNOW WOULD I HAVE ANY OBLIGATION IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO THE VEHICLE.

Question on State Disability And Workman's comp in California? I just got my letter from workman's comp saying they are stopping my T.D. Checks because my doctor P&S me, so now all I'm going to get is a very small check for P.D.until my lawyer settles with workman's comp.There is no way I can pay my bill's. My employer won't take me back because he feels that I'm a risk and could hurt myself on the job again.I transport car's for a living and in my 16yr career I've always been a contractor as an owner operator with different companies in the past.At the time of my injury I was working for a auto transportation company as a driver, only there for 1 1/2 months as a company driver. As a contractor I never really was employed as a company man. The only year I was a company man was in 2009, But 2010 I was employed as a company man for like I was saying 1 1/2 month only. Workman's comp was sending me 2/3 of 951.00 a week is what I was making before my injury, but only been there 1 1/2 month,I was told S.D.I pays 55% of my gross pay was for that short time I was working or will I even be able to collect anything for S.D.I. why do alot of open auto transport carriers have one vintage car on them along with new vehicles?
