They said i'm lost in the system, what do i do now? I allowed my ontario drivers license to expire with the understanding I could renew it within a year without having to go through with the tests and everything. so, that is what i thought i did. i went in, paid the fee, they took a new picture and said i could be expecting my new license in the mail. at the same time i was getting my M1, but this shouldnt have caused any confusion, (wait, its the ministry of transportation, confusion is abundant). anyway, not having a car, i rarely thought about it, but now i just realized, my origional time frame has expired. i called them and i guess as far as they're concerned, i didnt do anything. so, the local office said to come in, but what good will that do??? the last thing i want is to go through graduated licencing again!! has any one every been through this?? what happened? thanks for any info.

Car... Revision? Hello, I'm from Italy. Here in this country (as in many others, I think..) we have a law issued by the Ministry of Transportation that oblige a vehicle owner (car or motorbike) to "check up" the vehicle about brake safety, noise control and so on every 2 years at a fixed price by authorized car services. I would like to know if there's this kind of law also in America and other countrie and how this service is called, thanks!

Canadian government or courts of law...? I lost my Driver's Licence 7 years ago. The Judge said it would be suspended for 15 months. I went to the Ministry of Transportation Ontario after said time to get my licence back but they said it was suspended for 3 years. My question is; who has more power, the MTO or a court appointed Judge? Can any Ministry overturn a Judge's ruling? I spoke to a lawyer regarding this matter and he told me I was the first person to actually bring the matter to his attention. He said it would be the first time anyone would try and probably cost an arm and leg, neither of which I could do without. I was always under the assumption that the courts basicaly had the final say in any legal matter, guess I was wrong.
Habs fans...? You are the bottom-feeders of NHL fans. You make Leafs fans look smart...............Now that we've gotten the "formalities" out of the way, I got a question for ya! LOL In Ontario, the Ministry of Transportation issues out license plates with the Leafs and, I think, Sens logo on it for a price. Just wondering if your Ministry does the same thing for Habs logos. Oh, and while I got you here, what party's running the provine anyways? Bloc? Feel free to return the "formalities." lol That doesn't count, Jude! You didn't answer my intended question! Isles suck! lol

POLL: Would You Charge A Cop? on friday may 28th of 2009 i was driving home from a friends house at about 11:30 at night. i was about 4 blocks from my house, when all the sudden two cop cars started to follow me, they turned on the light sna sirens, so i pulled over, scared and confused as to what was going on. they told me to step out of the car and put the hand cuffs on me(they never read me my rights) they stated that i was driving in and out of lanes and it seemed that i was intoxicated. i admitted to having a beer that night, but i was deffenitly not drunk and 100% capable of driving, they did a breath test on me and i did not come over the limit. the officer than put me in the back of the police car and searched my car, he looked in my purse and even turned on my camera and looked at my pictures and videos. he than called my father to come and pick me up to take me home and said my liscence will be suspended for 30 days. he never gave me a ticket(pink slip) or anything. after the 30 days was finished i called my local station, because i was not sure what steps to take, the officer than told me to go to the ministry of transportation and pay a 150$ fine, he than said that it showed on his record that it was only suspended for 3 days. so i went down to the ministry of transportation to get it back, and they told me there was nothing in their file that said my liscence was suspended. and she reccomended i go to the police station and see what going on(she said the officer that took my liscence should have given me a ticket) so i went down to the station and asked what was going on. the officer said he has no clue and that i would have to speak to the man that took my liscense and he will not be in until friday. during the 30 days i was waiting for my liscense, me and a couple of friends were hanging out at the beach drinking wine coolers and beer. the police than came( same officer that took my liscence) he threw me on the floor harshly, where i almsot smashed my head on a rock and yelled in my face, he than roughly picked me up and told me not to move, he than called my mother and told her i was causing trouble. and he said to all my friends don't hang out with this girl, shes trouble i arrested her awhile ago for drinking and driving. what can i do in this situation. i live in ontario not in the states. can he be charged for looking at my camera and handeling me roughly? can he be charged for not giving me a ticket. oh today i lost my job as well, because i was in the station waiting an hour to talk to someone. please help!!

What are the pros and cons of being organized as a non-profit? I started a small business with the sole purpose of raising money for Christian missions. The business does specialty packing and shipping work, with any profit going either back into the operations, to the employees, or to charity, with a minimum of 10% going to charity (a tithe). We don't issue dividends to our shareholders (3 of us), and never intend to. I organized as a private for-profit because I was told it would give me more flexibility. We refer to ourselves as a "businestry", a business-ministry hybrid. I am wondering what others think? Was this good advice? We run an actual business, with normal customers, products, and services, not just a charity. Everyone else in our industry is for-profit. As a for-profit, I worry about equal employment opportunity and civil rights issues... but I haven't seen many non-profit retail stores or transportation companies out there. We are something in between. Argh? What is best?
Can anybody tell me what does abbreviation O/S mean related to logistics area? I have my G2 liscense and it says below here if i have 6 demerit points my liscence MAY be suspended but i have to go through an interview. I use my car to go to work and college, i have no criminal record or speeding tickets. and 2 tickets i recieved was failing to stop at stop sign, and fail to yield which is 3 points each, adding up to 6 points. Ontario driver with a New York state traffic ticket? Nutshell: I got a seat belt violation ticket in NY while waiting at a toll booth coming back to Ontario, Canada. Background: At the time I was the passenger waiting at a toll booth in NY state expecting to pay for the toll (my seat belt was not buckled up), the car I was in moved ahead (I didn't expect to move so suddenly) not more than 1 meter. A state police officer -on foot- jumped in front of our car and asked why I didn't have my seat belt buckled. I told the officer that I was grabbing something to eat and money for the toll, and that I didn't know the car was going to move ahead. Shortly after the officer issued me a notice -not a fine- that I would have to sign and send out to later receive the actual fine with payable amount. My question is: what happens if I do not send back the notice, and/or do not pay the fine -if I even get the fine amount. What happens to my Ontario Driver's license, and does it actually get reported to the The Ontario Ministry of Transportation? People who have legal knowledge or Canadians with experiences with similar infractions in NY state are strongly advised to reply! Thank you in advance

Can you drive alone in BC with a G1? I'm going on a trip with my girl next month to BC, so I'm wondering if I can drive with my G1. I will have a car available since I'm going to see a family member there. I did some research and found this...it does say "you may drive with your existing driver's licence for up to six months. " but I am unsure if that means that I can drive alone for six months? I am eligible to get my G2 July 22nd but our trip goes from July 8th to 20th.... """"" We contacted the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to see if you can drive out of Ontario with a G1 license. The licensing administrative office for the MTO responded that the G1 license is a learner's permit and as such, only meant for practice driving in Ontario with a licensed accompanying driver present at all times. So the G1 is a novice license and is not considered to be fully licensed for driving. We did however go on to contact the licensing authority in British Columbia, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), which told us that if you are just visiting BC, you may drive with your existing driver's licence for up to six months. Seizures and Driving? I have a question hoping to get some good sound advice from. I have epilepsy. It has been well under control for over 4 years. I have been able to get my drivers license and have been driving for the past 3 years. Recently, there was a thunderstorm with alot of lightening. I was caught in the storm that night. The lightening wasn't just a little in the distance it was the kind that lit up the whole sky. If flashed several times and at that time gave me a headache. I went home and went to sleep and woke up in the morning a little disoriented. I knew from the way I was feeling (slow to respond when people were talking to me, deep gasping breaths, and very weak) those are my signs of a seizure. I kept myself at home and stayed in bed had a seizure and was taken to the hospital and released a few hours later.. the doctor contacted the ministry of transportation and had my license suspended. Do you think that since I know what triggered the seizure that they would reinstate
Red light with a green left arrow BY LAW means what? My driving test is tomorrow.. and I can't find my driving handbook!! I live in Ontario. If I approach a red light that has a left green arrow for the cars turning left and obviously the green arrow also applies to the cars opposite AND say I'm turning to the right... I stop completely ... But BY ONTARIO LAWS... am I allowed to turn RIGHT even if there are NO opposite cars turning left (way is clear)? Or BY LAW am I still supposed to stop even if I'm turning right because of the red light green left arrow light? Please I would like a lot of anwers.. anybody just answer as long as it takes.. I'm sure someone out there has the Canadian driving handbook and I called friends but they're either not home or forgot and it won't tell you on the internet and I'm not allowed to ask the ministry of transportation when I get there.. so please anyone answer =( Thanks everyone! =)
Can you drive in a parking lot with out a licence? The other day, me and my friend took out the car for a drive. I only had my G1 and my friend had her G1 as well. We were coming out of a parking lot, I hit a car and the police came. When the police got there, they charged me with a ticket saying "Class G1 driver unaccompanied by qualified driver".. Now what surprised me was when they didn't take my license away. I'm pretty sure they were supposed to take it, and I would get it back 3 years from now. My mom called into the Ministry of Transportation about it and they told her I had to turn in my license immediately. When the police man was giving me the ticket, he said that I wasn't getting in that much trouble because the accident happend in a private parking lot and I don't need my license in a parking lot. Now back to my question, do you think that when I go to sign up for driving lessons or to take my G2 road test, they will take my license away from me? And are they justified in doing so? I would have thought they were but since the police told me I don't need a license in a parking lot, they couldn't take my G1 from me, right or wrong? I live in Ontario by the way
Which career would you choose? I am at a crossroads.? I have two opportunities. The first one is to continue on in school and have a chance at an academic career. I already have a Master's degree, so it would mean going back and doing a PhD. This would take 3 or so years and would equal financial hardship but hopefully a rewarding career - if I am lucky and successful - down the line. The other option is more immediate. I have been offered a civil servant's position at the Ministry of Transportation. The pay is good. I would see myself making another $14,000/year and would be able to buy a house and so on. The problem is that I don't know if my heart is in it. I want to be rich, successful, in charge, respected and so on. I don't know if this is the right path for me. My family and friends are pressuring me to take the job. I don't see I could leave it though to go back to school. I used to think there was time to discover my passion in life and it seems time is now running short. To be honest I don't know what I want.
Why was I charged in Ontario even though the judge said I wasn't going to be? Hi there, I'm an 18 year old college student in ONTARIO, Canada. In October of 2008 I was charged for "Street Racing", and I was actually just speeding. Anyways, I went to court twice and I even had a meeting with the Crown Attorney about the punishment for the crime. The Crown Attorney and the judge BOTH AGREED that the punishment would be a $2000 fine, with ZERO demerit points and NO license suspension. I just got a letter from the Ministry of Transportation on Friday (two months after my last court date) saying that I have SIX (6) demerit points and I have to attend a meeting in April to discuss with the court whether or not my license should be suspended for 6 months. Now, is it just me, or does that make no sense at all? The judge and crown attorney both agreed I would only be charged $2000 and receive no license suspension and no demerit points, yet the MTO says I have 6 demerit points and I have to go for a meeting about whether or not my license should be suspended further. I was on hold with the MTO for literally 50 minutes before I talked to someone, and then I was transferred to another person and put on hold for another 30 minutes. The woman on the phone literally told me that "the judge has no say regarding traffic violations". What the f*?!k am I supposed to do? This is absolutely ridiculous. I moved to Ontario expected a fair legal system. Instead, I got this a** backwards system where a judge's decision doesn't have any power. Thank you both of you very much!!! You honestly just made my day =) lol don't worry you didn't ruin my day. I already had court in January about this and the judge settled it at $2000. Both her and the MTO agree on that. The only thing they disagree on is the license suspension and the demerit points thing.
Guarantor for my drivers license? I just turned 16 yesterday and I want to go get my G1 today. I can't find any working phone numbers to talk to someone from the ministry of transportation or anything. So i have afew questions I have a passport, but its expired (As of June 17th this year) can I use that as identification because its less that a year expired? If not, it says I can use a Declaration from a Guarantor, my dad is a secondary school teacher can I use him as my guarantor?
In Ontario, if you obtain an M1 license, can you drive a car? My friend, who drives both car and motorcycle claims that you may drive a car if you were to obtain the M license, even with the M1 as it can be considered to be a G1, I believe those were what he said. he obtained the M license first, but never bothered with the G, yet drives in the car, and he even took me out several times in the car... I asked him for confirmation sometimes, and he said it was positive, but I cannot find solid proof on any Ministry of Transportation websites that indicates so. Is it true or not true? However, when i was reading the motorcycle driving book, it states that you do not require the G license in order to obtain the M license as almost they were both on an equal status. So M license would equal to the same as G? I know in the book it says that I may have a FULL M license in order to claim it as a G1, but as G1, you are limited to so many things, so would you have to take a G2 test and eventually to the point of the full G license? That's a lot of licensing!
The Mexican government lodged a protest, saying that the US broke the law first by enforcing the law? A commercial truck driver from Monterrey who has crossed Laredos international bridges countless times was stunned earlier this month when he received a ticket from U.S. inspectors because he cant speak English."We were worried," said Samuel Tamez Treviño, owner of the truck that was driven by Rafael Segovia. "We consulted with attorneys. We were somewhat relieved when they told us it would be treated as a warning. But now what are we supposed to do?" Tamez Treviño, whose transportation company is in Montemorelos, is concerned that his drivers may be unable or unwilling to learn English, considering that even a short, intense course to learn the basics can take five months. Segovia, who was back home and unavailable for comment, was handed the citation on Aug. 2 at about 4:45 p.m. at the Colombia-Solidarity International Bridge. He also was cited for having non-working brake lights and a leaky hydraulic hose, which are fairly routine violations. Tamez Treviño said hes never heard of any law requiring that his drivers know English. Many company owners dont speak English, let alone their workers, many of whom dont even have a high school education. The law requiring that Mexican truckers coming into the United States speak English has been on the books for years, but it has taken on renewed significance with the coming implementation of a new provision that will allow up to 100 Mexican carriers to go beyond the border zone. It also will allow up to 100 U.S. carriers to go deep into Mexico with their loads. While many international trade supporters praise the move as long overdue and a natural outgrowth of the North American Free Trade Agreement, the plan has many critics, including labor leaders and some U.S. transportation companies who fear the Mexican trucks will be unsafe and create unnecessary risks on U.S. highways Nevertheless, a demonstration project is set to begin within a few weeks, allowing Mexican carriers that have passed the required safety audit to take their trucks onto U.S. roads. Mexican truckers have their own complaints. "Theyre already bothering us in the United States and it hasnt even started," said Luis Moreno Sesma, president of the Nuevo Laredo branch of Canacar, a national association of transportation company owners. "Its not fair to require English in the commercial (border) zone." Federal transportation officials in Laredo declined to comment, but a spokeswoman for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in Washington said truck drivers who are working only in the border commercial zone may be found in violation of the law for not being able to communicate in English but wont be stopped from crossing. Those truck drivers who are headed past the border commercial zone, however, will not be allowed to continue their trip if they cant speak English, the spokeswoman said. "The Mexican drivers may receive citations," said the spokeswoman, who declined to give her name, "but that doesnt mean they have to stop working." Asked why the Mexican drivers werent given notice about the plan to start enforcing the law, the spokeswoman said Mexican authorities have been fully aware of the plan for some time. The Ministry of Communications and Transportation was involved in creating the demonstration program thats set to start soon. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18750357&BRD=2290&PAG=461&dept_id=569392&rfi=6

Christians, if god is so almighty why does He allow so much evil in His Holy name? A series of scandals resulted in the destruction of the reputations of several famous Christian evangelists. Some of the more famous happened in the 1980s with Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart. Some scandalized televangelists continue preaching, though with a far diminished viewership. Despite their respective scandals, they each often retain a core group of "faithful" followers. Contents [hide] 1 Jim Bakker 2 Darlene Bishop 3 Ted Haggard 4 Kent Hovind 5 Jimmy Swaggart 6 Jim Whittington 7 References [edit] Jim Bakker After receiving millions in salary and bonuses from his PTL televangelism network, Jim Bakker was forced to resign in 1987 following threats of the revelation of payoffs to former secretary Jessica Hahn, to whom Bakker's staff members had paid $265,000 to keep secret her sexual services to him. A later investigation into financial irregularities at PTL and its Heritage USA Christian-oriented theme park led to Bakker additionally being indicted on federal charges of fraud, tax evasion, and racketeering. [1] [edit] Darlene Bishop Darlene Bishop, a televangelist in Monroe, Ohio was sued by four relatives "over her claim that God cured their father - her brother - of throat cancer. He died of the disease 18 months ago." Her book, Your Life Follows Your Words tells how her brother was cured of cancer, but "there is no mention of his death in the book, which she says is due to the fact that it was published at a time when he had been in remission for more than a year." Bishop was also accused of probate irregularities and of mishandling her brother's estate.[2] [edit] Ted Haggard On November 3, 2006, Ted Haggard, who actually was regarded as a pastor rather than as a televangelist, resigned his leadership of the National Association of Evangelicals[3] and temporarily stepped aside as pastor of his church because of allegations by former prostitute[4] and masseur Mike Jones that Haggard engaged in sex with him for three years and used methamphetamine. Haggard at first claimed he did not know his accuser.[5] He later admitted receiving a massage from Jones but denied having sex with him. He also admitted buying methamphetamine but asserted he never kept it and denied ever using it. On November 4th he was dismissed by the church for "sexually immoral conduct." [6] [edit] Kent Hovind On November 2, 2006, Kent "Dr. Dino" Hovind and his wife, Jo, were found guilty by a jury in Federal court in Pensacola, Florida of numerous federal tax and tax-related offenses. Hovind is best known as an outspoken "Young Earth" creationist. He is serving a 10-year prison term.[7][8] [edit] Jimmy Swaggart Jimmy Swaggart admitted sinning against God and his wife in 1988 after being caught on film taking a prostitute to a motel. He had prior built his ministry into a $150 million-a-year (£65m) concern.[9] In 1991 it was alleged that he was stopped by police in a car with another prostitute. [10] [edit] Jim Whittington Jim Whittington spent 10 years in prison for money laundering, mail fraud, conspiracy, and interstate transportation of stolen property from his evangelist crusades and direct mail business in the 1980s. On November 2, 2005, U.S. District Court Judge Malcolm Howard ordered the Rev. Jim Whittington to pay $5,500 a month. Whittington, who had expensive high-speed boats and a Rolls-Royce, owed wheelchair-bound Valeria Lust $848,532.[11] [edit] References ^ Ostling, Richard. "Enterprising Evangelism", Time, 1987-8-03. what is barmuda triangle and where it is situated? is it mistry of this world http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl The Bermuda Triangle (also known as Devil's Triangle) is a nearly half-million square-mile (1.2 million km2) area of ocean roughly defined by Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the southernmost tip of Florida. The Bermuda Triangle has become popular through representation by the mass media, in which it is a paranormal site in which the known laws of physics are either violated, altered, or both. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl While there is a common belief that a number of ships and airplanes have disappeared under highly unusual circumstances in this region, the United States Coast Guard and others disagree with that assessment, citing statistics demonstrating that the number of incidents involving lost ships and aircraft is no larger than that of any other heavily traveled region of the world. Many of the alleged mysteries have proven not so mysterious or unusual upon close examination, with inaccuracies and misinformation about the cases often circulating and recirculating over the decades. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl The triangle is an arbitrary shape, crudely marking out a corridor of the Atlantic, stretching northward from the West Indies, along the North American seaboard, as far as the Carolinas. In the Age of Sail, ships returning to Europe from parts south would sail north to the Carolinas, then turn east for Europe, taking advantage of the prevailing wind direction across the North Atlantic. Even with the development of steam and internal-combustion engines, a great deal more shipping traffic was (and still is) found nearer the US coastline than towards the empty centre of the Atlantic. The Triangle also loosely conforms with the course of the Gulf Stream as it leaves the West Indies, and has always been an area of volatile weather. The combination of distinctly heavy maritime traffic and tempestuous weather meant that a certain, also distinctly large, number of vessels would flounder in storms. Given the historical limitations of communications technology, most of those ships that sank without survivors would disappear without a trace. The advent of wireless communications, radar, and satellite navigation meant that the unexplained disappearances largely ceased at some point in the 20th Century. The occasional vessel still sinks, but rarely without a trace. It should be noted that both the concept and the name of the Bermuda Triangle date only to the 1960s, and were the products of an American journalist. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl Other areas often purported to possess unusual characteristics are the Devil's Sea, located near Japan, and the Marysburgh Vortex or the Great Lakes Triangle, located in eastern Lake Ontario. Map of the popularly-held dimensions of the Bermuda Triangle; recent claims by researchers alude to a more "trapezium" shape, extending back into the Gulf of Mexico and down into the Caribbean Sea.Contents History The cover of the 1977 Panther paperback edition of Berlitz's The Bermuda Triangle First citations The first mention of disappearances in the area was made in 1950 by E.V.W. Jones as a sidebar on the Associated Press wire service regarding recent ship losses. Jones' article notes the "mysterious disappearances" of ships, airplanes and small boats in the region, and ascribes it the name "The Devil's Triangle". It was next mentioned in 1952 in a Fate Magazine article by George X. Sand, who outlined several "strange marine disappearances". The term "Bermuda Triangle" was popularized by Vincent Gaddis in a 1964 Argosy feature. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl Popularized by Berlitz The area achieved its current fame largely through the efforts of Charles Berlitz in his 1974 book The Bermuda Triangle (right) and its subsequent film adaptation. The book recounts a long series of mysterious disappearances of ships and aircraft, in particular the December 1945 loss of five U.S. Navy Avenger torpedo bombers in the infamous Flight 19 incident. The book was a bestseller and included several theories about the cause of the disappearances, including accidents due to high traffic volumes; natural storms; "temporal holes"; the lost empire of Atlantis; transportation by extraterrestrial technology; and other natural or supernatural causes. Skeptical responses The marine insurer Lloyd's of London has determined the "triangle" to be no more dangerous than any other area of ocean, and does not charge unusual rates for passage through the region. Coast Guard records confirm their conclusion. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl Skeptics comment that the disappearance of a train between two stops would be more convincing evidence of paranormal activity, and the fact that such things do not occur suggests that paranormal explanations are not needed for the disappearance of ships and airplanes in the far less predictable open ocean. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl Kusche's research Intrigued by the number of students coming to him looking for information about the Bermuda Triangle, Lawrence Kusche, a reference librarian with Arizona State University at the time of the Flight 19 incident, began an exhaustive follow-up investigation of the original reports. His findings were eventually published in 1975 as The Bermuda Triangle Mystery: Solved. http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl Kusche's research revealed a number of inaccuracies and inconsistencies between Berlitz's accounts and statements from eyewitnesses, participants and others involved in the initial incidents. He noted cases where pertinent information went unreported, such as the disappearance of round-the-world yachtsman Donald Crowhurst which Berlitz had presented as a mystery, despite clear evidence that Crowhurst had fabricated the accounts of his voyage and had probably committed suicide. Another example was the ore-carrier Berlitz recounted as lost without trace three days out of an Atlantic port when it had been lost three days out of a port with the same name in the Pacific Ocean. Kusche also argued that a large percentage of the incidents attributed to the Bermuda Triangle's mysterious influence actually occurred well outside it. Kusche came to several conclusions: The number of ships and airplanes reported missing in the area was not significantly greater, proportionally speaking, than any other part of the ocean. In an area frequented by tropical storms, the number of disappearances that did occur was neither disproportionate, unlikely, nor mysterious. The numbers themselves had been exaggerated by sloppy research. A boat listed as missing would be reported, but not necessarily its eventual, if belated, return to port. The circumstances of confirmed disappearances were frequently misreported in Berlitz's accounts. The numbers of ships disappearing in supposedly calm weather, for instance, did not tally with weather reports published at the time. Methane hydrates Main article: Methane clathrate An explanation for some of the disappearances focuses on the presence of vast fields of methane hydrates on the continental shelves. A paper was published in 1981 by the United States Geological Survey about the appearance of hydrates in the Blake Ridge area, off the southeastern United States coast. Periodic methane eruptions may produce regions of frothy water that are no longer capable of providing adequate buoyancy for ships. If this were the case, such an area forming around a ship could cause it to sink very rapidly and without warning. Laboratory experiments have proven that bubbles can, indeed, sink a scale model ship by decreasing the density of the water. Hypothetically, methane gas might also be involved in airplane crashes, as it is not as dense as normal air and thus would not generate the amount of lift required to keep the airplane flying. Methane can cut out an aircraft engine with very little levels of it in the atmosphere. Tidal waves Main article: Freak wave Research has shown that tidal, freak, or rogue waves can reach up to 30 m (100 feet) in height and are capable of sinking large ships within moments. Although these are very rare, in some areas ocean currents mean they happen more often than the normal. Such waves have now been hypothesized as a cause for many unexplained shipping losses over the years. Some research suggests that some of these waves are caused by giant bubbles of methane rising to the surface. These giant bubbles are created when methane vents at the ocean bottom become clogged; then pressure builds up and eventually the gas bursts out and rises rapidly to the surface thus generating the wave. Research has shown that such bubbles are able to sink scale sized ships with great ease and speed. Famous incidents Flight 19 Main article: Flight 19 One of the known Bermuda Triangle incidents concerns the loss of Flight 19, a squadron of five U.S. Navy TBM Avenger torpedo bombers on a training flight out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on December 5, 1945. According to Berlitz, the flight consisted of expert Marine Corps aviators who, after reporting a number of odd visual effects, simply disappeared, an account which isn't entirely true. Furthermore, Berlitz claims that because the TBM Avenger bombers were built to float for long periods, they should have been found the next day considering what were reported as calm seas and a clear sky. However, not only were they never found, a Navy search and rescue seaplane that went after them was also lost. Adding to the intrigue is that the Navy's report of the accident was ascribed to "causes or reasons unknown". While the basic facts of Berlitz's version of the story are essentially accurate, some important details are missing. The image of a squadron of seasoned combat aviators disappearing on a sunny afternoon is inaccurate. Rather, it was a squadron of lost, inexperienced flight trainees forced to ditch their out-of-fuel airplanes into unknown stormy waters in the dark of night. As for the Navy's report, it is claimed that the original report blamed the accident on the commander's confusion (Lt. Taylor abandoned his airplanes twice in the Pacific after getting lost returning to his carrier), but the wording was changed in deference to the wishes of his family. Another factor to consider is that the TBM Avenger Aircraft were never designed for crash-landing into water. Wartime experience in the Pacific showed that an Avenger aircraft would sink very quickly if landed on the water. Especially with novice pilots at the helm - an Avenger would be very difficult to land on calm water - let alone the perilous rough seas in the Bermuda Triangle. Star Tiger If the disappearance of Flight 19 had been an isolated incident, it would have remained one of the great mysteries of modern aviation. However, aircraft disappearances continued to be reported near the same location, some accompanied by equally extended and confusing radio traffic, including that of a four-engine Tudor IV airliner named Star Tiger, in the predawn hours of January 31, 1948. Piloted by Captain B. W. McMillan, the airliner, which carried twenty-nine passengers and crew on board, had left hours earlier from Santa Maria, Azores, one of numerous scheduled fuel stopover points on its route from London, England to Havana, Cuba. While approaching Bermuda, McMillan made the expected contact with Kindley Field, the next stopover, requesting a radio bearing to calibrate his navigation systems and ensure he remained on course. With the response indicating that the plane was slightly off course, its position was corrected after Bermuda relayed a first-class bearing of 72 degrees from the island. At this point, with Star Tiger less than two hours flight away, McMillan gave confirmation of an ETA of 05:00 hours, an hour late due to strong headwinds; no further transmission from the aircraft was ever received. Armed with precise reports of the plane's last known position, rescue operations were launched after the craft was determined overdue for arrival; but no trace of the aircraft was ever found. In the report issued soon thereafter by the Civil Air Ministry, numerous hypotheses as to what might have occurred during the flight's final two hours are given, before each being subsequently rejected: "There would accordingly be no grounds for supposing that Star Tiger fell into the sea in consequence of having been deprived of her radio, having failed to find her destination, and having exhausted her fuel." "There is good reason to suppose that no distress message was transmitted from the aircraft, for there were many radio receiving stations listening on the aircraft's frequencies, and none reported such a message." "...The weather was stable, there were no atmospheric disturbances of a serious kind which might cause structural damage to the aircraft, and there were no electrical storms." It was ruled that the aircraft could not have gone off course, as the broadcast bearing from Bermuda, with winds prevailing, would have brought it within thirty miles of the island: "The aircraft could hardly have failed to find the island in a short time, in the conditions of visibility which prevailed." Engine difficulty was ruled out as a likely cause, since at such late stage in the flight, without the added weight of extra fuel aboard, the aircraft might have been flown safely on three, or even two, engines instead of the four it had. The probability of the aircraft entirely losing three engines in the course of under two hours was considered absurd. Faced with the accumulation of evidence, or perhaps lack thereof, the board of investigation addressed the loss of the Star Tiger with remarked eloquence: "In closing this report it may truly be said that no more baffling problem has ever been presented for investigation. In the complete absence of any reliable evidence as to either the nature or the cause of the accident of Star Tiger the Court has not been able to do more than suggest possibilities, none of which reaches the level even of probability. Into all activities which involve the co-operation of man and machine two elements enter of a very diverse chaarcter [sic?]. There is an incalculable element of the human equation dependent upon imperfectly known factors; and there is the mechanical element subject to quite different laws. A breakdown may occur in either separately or in both in conjunction. Or some external cause may overwhelm both man and machine. What happened in this case will never be known and the fate of Star Tiger must remain an unsolved mystery." 2 years ago http://miss-aishwaryarai.page.tl

Harry Potter? Does anyone know the thing they did on the Order Of the Phoenix movie in the Ministry? You know the death eaters had that black-smoke looking transportation, whilst the "good guys" or the Order had the white-smoke looking transportation? Any ideas or any of you know what that was? Ok, I understand that this was special effects, but what was this called in the movie? Yes another note, this "White fog" occurred when they entered the room with the Archway Note: This is the movie. Please do not post messages saying "they used magic". Yes, I know this, as that is what occurs in a "Magical World".

Did You Know??? 1. Did you know that non-Jewish Israelis cannot buy or lease land in Israel? A Jew from any country in the world is guaranteed citizenship in Israel, while the Palestinians who have been there for centuries are oppressed and persecuted. 2. Did you know that instead of sewing an insignia on clothing to distinguish race (like the Germans did to the Jews before WW2), Palestinian license plates in Israel are color coded to distinguish Jews from non-Jews? 3. As Israel's main ally and supporter internationally, the United States is committed to maintaining the Jewish state's "qualitative edge" in weapons over its neighbors. 8. Did you know that the U.S. administration has notified Congress on numerous occasions that Israel has violated the rules on how US-supplied weapons are used? (In 1978, 1979 and 1982 during fighting in Lebanon, and once after Israel's bombing of an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981.) 9. Did you know that on May 20, 1990, a group of unarmed Palestinian laborers were lined up and murdered by an Israeli solider as they sat waiting for transportation back to Gaza? The terrified laborers who gathered in an area of southern Israel known as Rishon Lezion (known to Palestinians by its Arabic name Oyon Qara) handed their ID cards to the Israeli soldier. The soldiers ordered the distressed laborers to kneel down and face the ground and unexpectedly showered them with a barrage of bullets, killing seven and wounding many others. Needless to say, the soldier was not charged with any crime. 16. Did you know that until as recently as 1988, Israelis were permitted to run "Jews Only" job ads? 17. Did you know that recently-declassified documents indicate that David Ben-Gurion approved of the forced expulsion of Arabs from all Palestininan territory in 1948? 20. Did you know that the former chief rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Ovadia Yossef, who is also a founder and spiritual leader of the religious Shas party (Israel's third largest political party) openly advocates a 'Final Solution' to annihilate the Palestinians? Speaking at the widely broadcast sermon marking the last Passover, he declared of the Palestinians: "The Lord shall return their deeds on their own heads, waste their seed and exterminate them, devastate them and vanish them from this world. Did you know that the right of self-determination is guaranteed to every human being under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [December, 1948], yet Palestinians were/are expected to negotiate for this right under the Oslo Accords? 26. Did you know that despite what is widely perpetuated and written in the history books that the Arabs attacked Israel in the 1967 war, it was Israel who attacked the Arab countries first, capturing Jerusalem and the West Bank, and called the attack a pre-emptive strike? 27. Did you know that, as an occupying power, Israel has a particular responsibility under the Geneva Conventions to protect Palestinian civilians? 28. Did you know that, despite Ariel Sharon's public call for a unilateral ceasefire, Israeli soldiers have not stopped shooting, killing or bulldozing Palestinian homes? The most recent example of this is the murder of three innocent women who were shot by an Israeli tank as they sat in their tent! 29. Did you know that the Zionists have been trying to destroy Masjid al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock for the last 50 years by digging underground tunnels beneath the sites to weaken its foundation causing it to collapse? 30) Nelson Mandela called the Israeli government an apartheid regime, just like South Africa used to be

My Dream Job is SOOOOO close I can taste it..Please Advise !!? I live in Alberta Canada. Very recently, I submitted an application for quite a prestigious Government job with the Ministry of Transportation. It is in the business planning department, basically a high level department that constructs the annual operational activities of the entire department. Its a CUSHY, well paying position. I am very qualified for the job, and recently had a very good interview. Here is the interesting part: I had the interview yesterday, and went I went to look up the current business plan, I notice that the newly elected MINISTER of the department was one of our best clients at a financial services company. He was actually my boss's client and I had numerous dealings with him myself. This was about 5 years ago, so he might not remember my name. What would be the BEST method of approaching a Government Cabinet minister and advising him that I am applying for the same type of role for his Government. He is basically my ex boss' next door neighbor.

Would You Attend This College? Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point, IN. From it's website: MAYBE YOU WOULDN’T LIKE… OUR DRESS CODE Many think our dress code is too strict. Skirts above the knees are not allowed. Men must wear neckties to class and must have short haircuts. Young ladies may not wear shorts or slacks. OUR OLD-FASHIONED DISCIPLINE Young ladies are not allowed to go off campus unchaperoned. Young men and young ladies may not date alone in cars. Absolutely no hand holding or other intimacies are allowed between the sexes. There are date nights with bus transportation and adequate chaperones provided by the college. Student insubordination is absolutely forbidden. OUR INTENSE EVANGELISTIC ATMOSPHERE All faculty, staff, and students are required to go soul winning weekly. Students participate in the evangelistic ministry of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. OUR FUNDAMENTALIST EMPHASIS We are fundamentalists and use the term proudly. We believe in a literal Hell which has fire and brimstone and a literal Heaven with streets of gold. We stand for the King James Bible as the only Bible and the local New Testament church as the only true church. We believe in redemption through the blood of Christ, salvation by grace through faith alone, and the premillennial second coming of Jesus Christ. OUR SEPARATIST POSITION Absolutely no drinking, smoking, or dancing is allowed. No student is allowed to attend Hollywood movies, play cards, or participate in other questionable amusements. We do not fellowship with liberals, but instead take a strict separatist stand from the world and apostasy. OUR EMPHASIS ON CULTURE We believe in students learning and practicing propriety. We oppose the paganistic, barbaric humanism that prevails on many campuses. We believe in refinement, dignity, courtesy, proper manners, and Christian grace. OUR EMPHASIS ON THE PRACTICAL We blend the finest of scholarship with the best practical teaching possible. We teach not only what to do but how to do it.
