Can someone please describe the location of the crankshaft position sensor on a 2003 Nissan Altima? I purchased the sensor after the OBD II equipment stated that there was a problem with it, and replaced a sensor that is exactly the same on the drivers side. I have a feeling that I got the camshaft sensor and not the one with the problem, therefore I need to know where the crankshaft sensor is so I can replace the right one. I found and replaced the sensor. o Confirmed that camshaft & crankshaft position sensors are the same. o Crankshaft position sensor is a lot more difficult to replace as it is hidden under the engine and very difficult to access from both under the car & from under the hood. o Be careful with the connector to the sensor. Since you don't see the connector at any time and the clip is different to the camshaft sensor you can break the connector. I broke mine and had to find another connector at the dealership and adapt it by cutting and soldering 3 wires.
