Do people from Bognor Regis really care about London Transport strikes? I live in London. I work in London. I have to deal with the tube strikes when they occur. However, even I am sick of the coverage today's London Underground industrial action has received, especially on the BBC. The fact is, if you are smart and plan ahead, the strikes are not a problem for commuters - or at least not as big as the news is making out. But, the question is, do you care? Do you have any interest in this of you don't live in London? Sam Goodwin - not at all. Good to get some light relief!!!!!
how and why has public transport in London increased or decreased in past 20 years ? how this is same or not for rest of UK? also, how has public transport changed in London? and is it still permitted to drink alcohol on the tube? or do people do this anyways? when changed , if so? please explain what youc an how public transport and or road traffic has changed from outer skirts of London as well? and why? thanks for your answers!
Is the London transport price increase justified? Prices have gone up by 6% or something stupid. As a student I am feeling the strain. Do you think Boris Johnson is justified at all in increasing prices when people are so strapped for cash at the moment? To George B, The entire budget for Transport for London comes from fare and ticket income, charges under the congestion charge scheme, and "secondary revenue" such as advertising and property rentals. Also, Londoners get paid more because evrything in London is so damn expensive.
Is there any public transport in London on christmas? I arrive in London (heathrow) on christmas day and apparently theres no public transport! I can't afford the taxi fare either... is there any tubes going every so often??? or ANY way for me to get to kensington?
How do I get compensation from Transport for London? A bus hit me on the back whilst pulling into the stop yesterday and now my back and neck are in real pain. I didn't say anything to the driver at the time because I was alone, embarassed and crying! But I got his bus number. Is there anything I can do to get compensation? I was on the pavement and everything. And I 've missed work today because of it!
Can I work for Transport for London? What are the rules and regulations for Americans who want to work at Transport for London? Transport from Gatwick airport to London? I will be visiting London from 28/1/2012 to 31/1/2012. I will be landing at Gatwick airport and I will need a cheap and convenient transport to London city centre. From what I know after reading "Eyewitness" London guide, there are several ways to get to London and they have very different prices. Gatwick Express is too expensive for 5 persons to travel together. Any suggestion?
Is there an equivalent of Transport for London's Journey Planner website, but for Paris? I'm going to Paris later this year, and have been trying to find an equivalent of the TFL Journey Planner website that lets you type in your current position, and your destination, then tells you how to make the journey (ie which stations to go to, where to change etc) and how long it will take. I'm trying to find a Paris equivalent, for the Metro etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Dependable transport from London to Heathrow (no underground)? Hello, I have an international flight departing at 2pm in London in June. (I'm planning early because of the Olympics.) I'd have too much luggage to navigate the metro if it's crowded, so I'm wondering if there's a dependable shuttle or coach to the airport. I would rather it be cheap, but I'd pay for a bit more to be at the airport on time. Thanks!
Writing a complaint to Oyster (Transport for London)? Hi there, I would like to write a complaint to Oyster (Transport for London) regarding the lost of £4 when forgetting to tap out your Oyster once completed train journey. Could somebody please provide me to the correct email address or website for a complain like this. Thank you.
london transport price hikes: are they justified? if so, then in what way are they justified? and if not why not? i already have a oyster card and despite these increases, the thing is i don't make that many journeys anyway and plus £1 per travel is a small price to pay, considering it will cost £2- that's right £2 quid- without an oyster card for a single journey on the bus for example. likewise a single journey in zone 1 on the tube will rise up to £4. and not forgetting also that free travel for under 16s, especially on london's buses still stands and alas, they are exempt from paying for their travel. i understand that the staff are underpaid as it is, and the system is supposed to improve but cannot london transport give them what they want, just so to prevent them from striking and to stop increasing the fares every year? do you use public transport, either in london or elsewhere and if elsewhere, how does it compare? what do you make of these increases, as proposed by ken livingstone and tfl?
'Oyster Cards' for the london transport system - Are they breaking any monopoly law/human rights laws? * i did ask this yesterday, but am after a different response from different people* By charging for the same journey (to be increased in 2007 to £2 for a single bus journey & £4 for the tube!!) a smaller amount compared to un-capped rases in cash prices for forcing you to enter your personal details and bank details to use the 'Oyster' card system, is there a question of monopoly or infringement of human rights regarding self identification or monitoring of movements, this of course highlighted during the tube scares where an oyster card was used to backtrack movements of passengers? Its not about my details, its about the use of a controlled transport system and its 'power of demand' on the passengers and the use of information and monopoly. If its about not keeping cash, then why cant I swipe my debit card instead? IS IT FAIR? to charge more if paying cash?
London Transport Student discount Oyster card? How do I apply for an 18+ student discount Oyster card (2007-2008) online? The link http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/oysteronline/photocards/18plusstudents/5648.aspx doesn't work. If this is the wrong link then what is the right one? Also what are the requirements for the digital photgraph?

london transport...? does anyone think its stupid the way our government has used our tax to get people on the public transport via a huge publicity campaign, and then proceeded to hike up the prices for it? its ridiculous, for example they introduce the congestion charge, so that more people will use our rubbish public transport, then for the third year running raise ticket prices, this is just unfair, it now costs less to use ur car in central london than it does to use public tranport

How do I get to Stansted Airport (London) from Sloane Square station in Belgravia, London? I have an Oyster Card that's for zones 1 & 2. So is it possible to use the tube to somewhere in zone 2, and then take a bus to Stansted? I've been trying to use other sites on the internet that would tell me what stations to get on or where to walk to and whatnot, but the london transport site isn't really helping me at all. Please help if you can, and thank you!

I can sue London Transport.? Because of a mistake done by a staff from London Transport I was humiliated on the bus today, I topped up my oyster card today with £5.00 On my first bus it worked but on the second bus it was saying that I had no money, I called oyster telephone number and at the same time I was trying explain to the driver that I had put on £5.00 on my oyster and I had no money on me , even explaining the situation and showing the receipt with the time I had put the money he started shouting at me and after 2 stops he stopped the bus and made get off the bus in the middle of nowhere, I had to walk for 15 minutes to find a tube station and them put some more money on my Oyster, and I was told the £5.00 I never used would be put in my card in 3 days time. I never felt so humiliated in all my life when the bus driver stopped the bus turned the engineer off and said he wouldn’t go anywhere with me inside. Can sue London Transport??
A nice town to live in with good transport connections to Central London? Hi, I'm tired of paying high rents and living in small spaces in London, but I'm lucky to work in Euston, walking distance to King's Cross and Euston stations. Which town or city north of London do you think could be a good option to move to, I'm looking with some quality of life and fairly fast transport to London Euston or Kings X, say around 30-45 minutes? Thanks.

What do you hate about London Transport? What do you hate about London Transport? Be honest aswelll. Personally don't understand it when the elderly come and sit upstairs(young people upstairs/old people downstairs) and why the drivers lets more than 3 people with pushchairs on - total chaos. What about you?

Question about the London mayor and public transport? If the Mayor doesnt have special privileges on public transport, then why? After all, he is the mayor! And if he only has the same rights as the public, is that why people are complaining that he didnt get a fine? Is it because then he will get a criminal record (like the European visitor who got a criminal record when she forgot to activate her oyster card?) Is it because he cant stand for Mayor in 2012 if he has a criminal record?
