Stevens Transport, C. R. England - is freight touch or no-touch ? I used to work for Swift a long time ago and was used to hauling no-touch freight. And never anything refrigerated. I want to return to driving a truck so i'm looking at C. R. England and Stevens, both of whom are hiring in my area. So does the driver of a refrigerated trailer have to unload at stops ? What percent of frieght is no-touch ? Is this a more physical line of truck driving than non-refrigerated ? Thanks.
Do U.S. truck drivers with C. R. England, Stevens Transport, P.A.M. and Schneider drive into and around Canada? I used to drive a tractor trailer and am now trying to get back to doing it. I love visiting Canada miltiple times a year and was wondering which of the companies i've listed (or others you may know of) allow their American truck drivers to pick-up or deliver in Canada ? In many cases with Mexico for instance, i've seen that U.S. drivers will drop or pick-up load at a border town but won't actually drive in and around Mexico. Is the same true for Canada ? Thanks :D

Need help finding public transport from Hoboken to Glassboro? long story short, I'm going to college at Stevens in Hoboken, NJ, and my boyfriend is going to Rowan, which is in Glassboro (also in NJ). Since neither of us can have cars freshman year, we want to find a way to take maybe a train then a bus to get to each others' campuses for weekends to visit. Can anyone find a simple, direct way to take a train and/or bus from Hoboken to Glassboro? I wouldn't mind walking a couple miles. Don't use google maps... I tried it and their directions are all on a bus and take almost 7 hours.
What will Alaska do without Ted Stevens? From the making of Metlakatla into an Economic Enterprise Community, to the bridges to nowhere to numerous other benefts for Alaska, Uncle Ted has been a mainstay of a state with huge economic disadvantages in transport and the inability to attract private investment. One well-known Democrat once wrote, "He could shoot the reindeer from under Santa Claus and still be reelected." But now, with Mark Begich leading by 1022 votes and the remaining absentee and question ballots to be counted all from areas heavily favoring Begich, it looks as if there will be an interruption in his illustrious (and mildly outrageous) career. So how will Alaska fare? They need infusions of capital badly to become as productive as they could be, but the internal rates of return seem small to outside investors. Cafe Combate: Try living in a village with a 6% employment rate and 100% of the available jobs filled and see if you still say that. One such village has access to some really unique water they could bottle and sell for ridiculous prices but not ridiculous enough to freight it to market on a steady basis. Alaskan: I can see you have never lived in a village. There is a struggle there to pay for heating oil, and for water/sewer and electricity, if the village has such services. Subsistence doesn't make a dent in that. The permanent fund isn't enough either.
I would greatly apreciate if someone could perhaps provide transport to an alternate universe...? I googled it, and I think I know were to go, there is a black hole its about three stars to the left of our sun, and about as far away from robert pattinson and the twihard following... I would imagine this question seems a bit far fetched but you know steven hawkings told me himself It could be done, so if you think this is crazy, try explaining the woman who wanted a twilight themed wedding. Now that is impossible... I am certain that the universe would implode and then god would ROLFMAO at the groom. well rather, Chuck Norris, and or Morgan Freeman would laugh at the groom since I'm athiest. BTW I will need a fast ship, so anyone with connections to harrison ford would be very helpful indeed. and on a side note I would like someone to punch Justin Bieber... just, u know... for the hell of it...
I rarely read poetry, but sometimes several phrases with a decent melody will transport me out of the worst-? moods. It may not even be inspired by the beauty of nature, or some profound riddle. It may be in a few heart strung words in a popular song that I'd never paid particular attention too before- Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for Cat Steven's, "Trouble". Suddenly I cannot hear enough of it. I feel every scintilla of every chord of this song so its' nice to know sometimes that I'm not dead after all. OK, its' not a video game- sorry to disturb.
What would you see at the Cinema out of these? Red Riding Hood- Amanda Seyfried stars in a dark and romantic reimagining of the classic tale. Her plans to run away with Peter are shattered when the wolf kills her older sister. Suddenly everything has changed. Famed werewolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) is sent for, but immediately warns the townsfolk that the wolf could be lurking within any one of them. Jake Gyllenhaal stars in a mind-bending psychological thriller from visionary director Duncan Jones. When the train is destroyed in an explosion, Stevens is transported into a hi-tech laboratory, where he is confronted by a military officer (Vera Farmiga) and a scientist (Jeffrey Wright). They reveal that Stevens is on a mission to find the terrorist who bombed the train earlier that day. Stevens is part of a government experiment called the Source Code which enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last eight minutes of his life. With an even greater threat looming, Stevens must return to the train again and again, gathering clues each time - before it's too late to save the city. Will these TSA and police officers arrested in prescription drug bust, be on the No Fly List now? http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/09/13/new.york.tsa.officers.arrested/ - TSA and police officers arrested in prescription drug bustBy Julia Talanova, CNN September 13, 2011 - New York (CNN) -- Three Transportation Security Administration officers and two police officers are among 20 people arrested Tuesday on charges of conspiring to distribute tens of thousands of oxycodone painkillers for illegal sale from Florida to Connecticut, according to U.S. Attorney of Connecticut David B. Fein. According to court documents, TSA and law enforcement officers accepted cash and gift cards to allow large quantities of the prescription drug and large sums of money to be transported between Florida and New York airports. "In these times no one needs to be reminded about how dangerous it is when officers who have sworn to uphold the law accept money to 'look the other way'," Fein said. "Operation Blue Coast" began with an arrest at a hotel in Stamford, Connecticut, on April 8, in which DEA officers recovered 6,000 oxycodone pills from a man who traveled from Florida to Connecticut., officials said. According to court documents, the man revealed that he traveled back and fourth several times a week over the course of a year, buying drugs in Florida and transporting them to Connecticut through commercial airlines and by automobile. He said he sold the drugs to traffickers in Connecticut for a profit. "Prescription pain medication abuse is rampant in New England and this trafficking group allegedly preyed upon the individuals to line their pockets, while the law enforcement officers are alleged to have sold their badges and abused their authority to further the illegal activities of this organization," according to a statement by Steven Derr of the DEA. According to the DEA, to transport up to 8,000 pills per trip, the man said he paid off the arrested TSA officers who screened the passengers and luggage at the Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York. He told the DEA he also paid more than $20,000 to TSA officers in New York to make sure he could pass with large sums of cash, the profits from his drug trafficking. "TSA holds its security officers to the highest professional and ethical standards and has a zero tolerance policy for criminal activity in the workplace," said TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein in a written statement. "The actions of a few individuals in no way reflect on the outstanding job our more than 50,000 security officers do every day to ensure the security of the traveling public." The informant also allegedly paid off Florida State Trooper Justin Kolves, 28, by giving his fiancé, Jessica Douglas, 28, checks in exchange for a free pass for anyone transporting narcotics or currency driving through Central Florida. In addition to Kolves and Douglas, the arrested include Christopher Allen, 45, and John Best, 30, TSA officers based at the Palm Beach International Airport; Brigitte Jones, 48, a TSA officer based at Westchester County Airport in New York; and Michael Brady, 36, a New York police officer employed by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, who allegedly accepted cash in Connecticut and New York in exchange for passing drug profits through the airport without detection. Fourteen others were arrested. If convicted they face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

Please help i am confused out of my mind.? Mary Ellis, a widow, lives in a townhouse that she shares with her adult son, William, who does not pay rent. Mrs. Ellis awakens on a Saturday morning and goes to her walk-in closet, where she finds a man whom she recognizes as a neighbor, Clyde Stevens, lying on the floor unresponsive. Mrs. Ellis calls 911. Minutes later, police and EMS personnel arrive. Mr. Stevens is pronounced dead from an apparent stabbing, as he has a large butcher knife protruding from his back. Mrs. Ellis, a senior citizen, is transported to the hospital for observation, quite distraught. Police establish a crime scene and call for detectives and crime scene specialists, who arrive and begin to investigate. Detectives begin a canvass and interview Clyde Stevens' wife, Sheila. Mrs. Stevens tells police that William Ellis has entered her townhouse several times unannounced and on one occasion appeared to be trying to get into her bed. Mrs. Stevens gives the police consent to search the house for any potential evidence that might identify her husband's killer. Crime scene investigators actively process the scene. In William's bedroom, technicians develop a blood fingerprint adjacent to a light switch, using an amino acid stain, after locating the print using the absorptive properties of blood and a portable argon laser. The crime scene investigator photographs the print and recovers a sample of the blood for DNA analysis. The print is from the right index finger of William Ellis, and DNA analysis matches the blood to Clyde Stevens. On the basis of this and associated evidence from the Stevens and Ellis residences, an arrest warrant is issued for William Ellis. William is arrested in Utah and extradited to Illinois to stand trial. His lawyer files a motion to exclude evidence. Can someone please answers these questions to fit this scenario? 1. How would William's lawyer argue to have the physical evidence excluded? 2. Will the exclusion pertain to all the evidence, or is there a difference between the evidence collected from the Ellis and Stevens homes? 3. What were the legal justifications for a search? 4. Give examples and cite court cases that deal with these legal justifications. Discuss the exclusionary rule and the "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine and determine whether these concepts apply to this scenario. Support your answer by citing relevant literature and legal cases. 5.Describe what steps you would have taken had you done this investigation. i was thinking he cant file a motion for evidence to be excluded because all of the evidence pointed to him. the body was in his mom room and his bloody print and the victim dna was in his room. where is the evidence incorrect?

Please help reflect on this article"Canadian soldier dies in bomb blast"? KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - The latest Canadian victim of the relentless IED campaign by insurgents in Afghanistan was headed home Saturday after his flag-draped coffin was loaded onto a military transport plane. Please reflect on this article ILL GIVE FUUUULL MARKS FOR BEST ANSWER!! thnx Sapper Steven Marshall, 24, of 11 Field Squadron, 1 Combat Engineer Regiment, was the sole casualty of an explosion that struck his patrol Friday in Panjwaii district, 20 kilometres southwest of Kandahar city. More than 2,300 Canadian and foreign troops gathered under the floodlights on the tarmac at Kandahar Airfield to pay their last respects to the Calgary native. "Steven was a passionate hockey fan who loved his hometown Calgary Flames," said padre Cpt. Steve Defer in a eulogy delivered by the Hercules C130 that will take Marshall to CFB Trenton. "His ever present grin and sense of humour was contagious." One of Marshall's best friends, Sapper Dustin Perry, also called attention to his penchant for cracking jokes, which he said brought out the best in everyone. "Those of us who knew him remember that he was the kind of guy who would do anything for you and ask nothing in return," he said following the ramp ceremony. "He always put his friends before himself." Marshall and Perry had been close since training together at CFB Gagetown three years ago, despite Perry being partial to the Vancouver Canuck. "When Vancouver and the Flames were playing it was gloves off for me and Marshall," Perry said. "Marshall was a very competitive hockey player. I was always kind of jealous of his skills." Marshall is the 133rd Canadian soldier to die as part of the Afghan mission. He was the second Canadian soldier killed this week by an IED. Lt. Justin Boyes died Wednesday in an explosion that also injured two other soldiers. His body arrived at CFT Trenton, Ont., on Saturday. Private sector analysts HMC Inc. have tracked a more than 60 per cent increase in the use of IEDs in Afghanistan between 2006 and 2008. It has already tracked well over 100 more cases in 2009 than for all of 2008. Since April 2007, 65 of the 88 Canadian deaths in Afghanistan have been the result of improvised explosive devices. As a sapper, Marshall was on the front lines of efforts to minimize the threat presented by the home-made bombs. "With his skills Steven held one of the critical keys to a lasting peace in Afghanistan," said Defer. "Clearing the mines and IEDs that threaten our soldiers promises more than just our safety, but also, it offers the real promise that the people of Afghanistan might one day know a truly lasting freedom." Marshall was working in an area thought critical for the future success of the counter-insurgency strategy initiated by Brig.-Gen. Jonathan Vance earlier this year. The Canadian military is working to establish a series of model villages in the Dand district that will allow them to separate insurgents from the population at large by providing security and basic economic development. Marshall was killed in the area around Belanday, which borders Panjwaii and was considered one of the success stories of the new strategy.
Statistic (Depreciation)? Recently, Steven did a market study that showed tremendous market potential taking orders and delivery fuel to industrial areas. This is due to an SCDF guideline that requires the transportation of fuel above 20L to be on vehicles with PTL (petroleum transport license). A brand new PTL vehicle costs about $50,000, with COE (Certificate of Entitlement) of 10 years. After 10 years, the scrap value is $5,000. From a week's Classified advertisements, Steven compiled the following offers: Vehicle Age (Years) 2 4 5 7 8 Selling Price ($) 34,000 24,000 18,400 10,800 8,600 Average Yearly Distance Clocked (Km) 10,000 9,000 9,500 9,800 9,000 Where applicable, analyse using the 4 depreciation methods as an entrepreneur. You must make meaningful comparison across all 5 used vehicles, together with buying a brand new one. Explain which is the best method. State what other factor(s) may be critical to your decision. Include any assumptions that are to be applied consistently, if any. To illustrate your understandings, show as much relevent working as possible.
Help me identify this SciFi book please? Hi all, and thanks in advance for reading my sketchy ramblings. Like most of these half-remembered plot lines I'm not exactly sure that my memory stands up particularly well, but here goes. Set in some post-apocalyptic era the male lead character finds an ancient automated library and meets the female lead character about the same time. Finding some way to ask the library questions about the disappearance of the population, the library provides the woman with a book that instructs her how to develop mental abilities but the man's not convinced. She sticks with it and demonstrates that it works (and some specific thing about a flower used by her to show her abilities). He starts learning and catches up and they learn to (transport|jaunt) themselves. More information about the population having left the planet in this way and pointers to their destination. Leap of faith into the unknown taking a bubble of air with them and getting low when, at a final push, meet some that have already travelled. Further demonstration of how mental abilities can be further developed and a meeting held for reasons of privacy in a mind-bubble in the heart of a star. This isn't 'The Stars My Destination' , not 'The Tomorrow People', and not Steven King's 'The Jaunt'. Absolutely not H G Wells's 'The Time Machine'. Not a Star Trek original series episode 'All Our Yesterdays' with Mr Atoz's library. I have no idea why this popped into my head but I'd love to track it down again. Any pointers gratefully received. Bovary, you ignorant, arrogant idiot, it's identical because it was me that asked it on Amazon. If you'd have bothered your lazy backside to look a bit further you'd have seen that I've asked this very same question on Y!A previously too. Lazy. Ignorant. Arrogant. Idiot.

Buddhism and multi dimensions? I remember reading somewhere in the Dalai Lama's teachings talking about early Buddhism talks of a multi dimension space. Found this interesting given I am now reading some physics literature with work done by Steven Hawkings and another prominent physicist which suggest that the universe is actually (mathematically proven or suggested) to be made up of 11 dimensions. These dimensions are interconnected through time/space. This discovery came about with Hawkings correcting his earlier theory on black holes, and that they in fact do not gobble up matter into nothingness, but instead take it from this "dimension/universe" and transport it to another universe where the black hole is inverse and becomes nothing, reconstituting the "data memory". Anyway I just thought this was sort of eerie in conjunction with other things I've read about Buddhism’s definition of the universe and the realms within. Any other Physics/Buddhist fans out there that can comment? Thanks I was not talking in absolute terms, but rather I thought that it interesting that science is laying out our universe with a few interesting similarities to Buddhist beliefs. There seem to be a few uncanny relationships. After all Buddhism is founded more along natural world workings then spiritualism, and therefore is tied to the workings of the universe ultimately. For C. I understand what you are saying but I think Hawkings was quite clear in his explanation and further comment on other discoveries involving new approaches to his theory on black holes. I can't recall if it was string theory, or part of string theory, but it was directly related to his revamping of black hole theory and the event horizon, where originally it was thought that matter literally was gobbled up and dissapeared. Later it was corrected with the help of another physicist that in order to correct that theory, mathematically it seemed that a black hole in fact "reconstitutes" matter on the other side in another dimension where that black hole is balanced out and is nothing on that side, thereby balancing the "universe". Not sure that I am being as clear as I should be, but in any case I thought it was an interesting theory and a multi dimensioned universe makes sense in a lot of ways.

How can I report a death threat? Although I am sure it's not really meant for me, they are trying to get people send money by sending scary death threats like this: Hello, This is a message from the Ishmael Ghost Islamic Group. We are confirmed Islamic Hired killers and Suicide aids. We have been sent to assassinate you and members of your family. I am sorry if the following message will not be detailed because we would not want you to be able to track us as we have been following your every move for sometime now. Sometime ago, you offended a member of our gang. As you quite know, I shall not be detailing my statement. This member had ordered for your assassination after he made sure he acquired every information about you and your family. It was when he produced your complete details that another member of our gang found out he knew someone in your extended family. As a result, he pleaded for you and said you should be pardoned under any condition. After reaching an agreement, we decided that you provide the total sum of 800 USD to transport some of our expatriates out of the USA. The money shall finalize the migration of these Islamic expatriates out of the USA. If you do not follow these requirements, I am sorry you shall not live to see the next three weeks, even if you see the next three weeks, a member of your family shall pay for it and another shall pay for every other week you stay alive until you are dead. To provide this money, kindly send the money via western union or money gram to a receiver in the UK. I checked the email address it has been sent from, they hacked into a Turkey professor email address and sent it from his. This person really exists and this email address is his from work. Shame on them. And that's why they ask to be sent an email to the other email address, because they don't want this person to find out by receiving answers. Thank you everyone. I AM AWARE IT'S A SCAM. Do you know a handy email address to report this kind of violation? ...and by the way Murphy: it is not funny! You should not answer like this just to get points, it's not funny at all!!
So who here feels they are smarter than Steven Hawking? He meant to say that no heaven exists other than the space ship named Heaven that brought jesus and the angels here thousands of years ago that traveled the world using jet aircraft and ascended to and from the space ship via a transport beam. It is all laid out on the walls of caves where pre biblical humans lived! They were not trying to start a religion like the shepherds that wrote the bible! They were merely showing what they saw not what they thought they heard! The aliens that came here used all of their advanced technology on the earths uneducated humans to create all the spectacles that were written about in the bible including jesus's rise to heaven (the space ship), and mind control, and lasers to cut the ten commandments in stone, and so on and so on!

"ACLU Sues DHS Over Unlawful TSA Searches and Detention Treasurer Of Ron Paul's Campaign For Liberty Detained And Interrogated For Carrying Cash At St. Louis Airport NEW YORK, June 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is subjecting innocent Americans to unreasonable searches and detentions that violate the Constitution, according to a lawsuit filed today by the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU filed the complaint on behalf of a traveler who was illegally detained and harassed by TSA agents at the airport for carrying approximately $4,700 in cash. "Airport searches are the most common encounters between Americans and law enforcement agents. That's why it is so important for TSA agents to do the job they were trained to do and not engage in fishing expeditions that do nothing to promote flight safety," said Ben Wizner, a staff attorney with the ACLU National Security Project. "It is, of course, very important to ensure the safety of flights and keep illegal weapons and explosives off planes. But allowing TSA screeners to conduct general purpose law enforcement searches violates the Constitution while diverting limited resources from TSA's core mission of protecting safety. For the sake of public safety and constitutional values, these unlawful searches should stop." On March 29, 2009, Steven Bierfeldt was detained in a small room at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and interrogated by TSA officials for nearly half an hour after he passed a metal box containing cash through a security checkpoint X-ray machine. Bierfeldt was carrying the cash in connection with his duties as the Director of Development for the Campaign for Liberty, a political organization that grew out of Congressman Ron Paul's presidential campaign. Bierfeldt was detained and questioned as he returned home from a Campaign for Liberty event transporting proceeds from the sale of tickets, t-shirts, stickers and campaign material. Bierfeldt repeatedly asked the agents to explain the scope of their authority to detain and interrogate him and received no explanation. Instead, the agents escalated the threatening tone of their questions and ultimately told Bierfeldt that he was being placed under arrest. Bierfeldt recorded the audio of the entire incident with his iPhone. "I do not believe I should give up my constitutional rights each time I choose to travel by plane. I was doing nothing illegal or suspicious, yet I was treated like a potential criminal and harassed for no reason," said Bierfeldt. "Most Americans would be surprised to learn that TSA considers simply carrying cash to be a basis for detention and questioning. I hope the court makes clear that my detention by TSA agents was unconstitutional and stops TSA from engaging in these unlawful searches and arrests. I do not want another innocent American to have to endure what I went through." "Mr. Bierfeldt's experience represents a troubling pattern of TSA attempting to transform its valid but limited search authority into a license to invade people's privacy in a manner that would never be accepted outside the airport context," said Larry Schwartztol, a staff attorney with the ACLU National Security Project. "Just as the Constitution prevents the police on the street from conducting freewheeling searches in the hopes of uncovering wrongdoing, it protects travelers from the kind of treatment Mr. Bierfeldt suffered." TSA officials have the authority to conduct safety-related searches for weapons and explosives. According to the ACLU's lawsuit, TSA agents are using heightened security measures after 9/11 as an excuse to exceed their search authority and engage in unlawful searches that violate the privacy rights of passengers. The lawsuit also charges that unconstitutional searches and detention by TSA agents have become the norm. The ACLU's lawsuit was filed against Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, which has authority over TSA. It was filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. Attorneys on the case are Wizner, Scott Michelman and Allen Hopper of the ACLU, Art Spitzer of the ACLU National Capital Area and cooperating attorney Alan Gura of Gura and Possessky, P.L.L.C. More information about the case, including the ACLU's complaint and an audio recording of Bierfeldt's detention and interrogation, is available online at: http://www.aclu.org/safefree/general/39922res20090618.html Sorry for the spaces, it didn't look like that on my screen. This happened just after the Missouri version of the DHS report came out saying rightwing groups including pro life people, supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr, people in limited immigration groups, etc might be domestic terrorists. People said 'no one would ever be arrested just for that', but this comes pretty close, I think. What do you think? Doodle, did I say anything about Obama? However, it was Obama's DHS that circulated it and enforced under it. Doodle, I did read that report, and the one about black colleges. I think it is all very disturbing that DHS is politically profiling large groups.
can anyone write me a 1 paragraph summary for this article..? Asian air pollution affects our weather By Robert Lee Hotz March 06, 2007 in print edition A-1 Asia’s growing air pollution – billowing plumes of soot, smog and wood smoke – is making the Pacific region cloudier and stormier, disrupting winter weather patterns along the West Coast and into the Arctic, researchers reported Monday. Carried on prevailing winds, the industrial outpouring of dust, sulfur, carbon grit and trace metals from booming Asian economies is having an intercontinental cloud-seeding effect, the researchers reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The study is the first large-scale analysis to draw a link between Asian air pollution and the changing Pacific weather patterns. “The pollution transported from Asia makes storms stronger and deeper and more energetic,” said lead author Renyi Zhang at Texas A&M University. “It is a direct link from large-scale storm systems to [human-produced] pollution.” Satellite measurements reveal that high-altitude storm clouds over the northern Pacific have increased up to 50% over the last 20 years as new factories, vehicles and power plants in China and India spew growing amounts of microscopic pollutant particles into the air. The resulting changes have altered how rain droplets form and helped foster the creation of imposing formations over the northern Pacific known as deep convective clouds. The clouds create powerful updrafts that spawn fiercer thunderstorms and more intense rainfall, particularly during the winter, the researchers said. Only a decade ago did scientists in the University of California’s Pacific Rim Aerosol Network help discover that the pollution crossing the Pacific from Asia was worse than suspected, with millions of tons of previously undetected contaminants carried on the wind. In fact, on any spring or summer day, almost a third of the air high over Los Angeles, San Francisco and other California cities can be traced directly to Asia, researchers said. “More stuff starting up over there means more stuff ending up over here,” said UC Davis atmospheric scientist Steven Cliff. Usually, dust and industrial pollutants take from five days to two weeks to cross the Pacific to California. Zhang and his colleagues conducted their three-year study by comparing satellite imagery of the Pacific region taken from 1984 to 1994 with imagery of the same area from 1994 to 2005. The study, funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation, found that deep convective clouds had increased between 20% and 50%. Convective clouds include cumulonimbus clouds, which can be many miles thick with a base near Earth’s surface and a top frequently at an altitude of 33,000 feet or more. The research team, which included atmospheric scientists from Caltech, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and UC San Diego, linked the changing cloud patterns to the increasing pollution through a series of computer studies. The scientists also examined satellite data from the Atlantic region during the same periods, since pollution from North America follows the prevailing winds to Europe. But they did not find any similar pattern of cloud changes or increase in storm intensity. The Pacific pollution also may affect other pervasive patterns of air circulation that shape world climate. “If the trend to intensified storms in this region persists, it will likely have profound implications on climate change,” said Robert McGraw, a senior atmospheric chemist at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, who was not involved in the study. Among other consequences, the more energetic Pacific storm track could be carrying warmer air and more black soot farther north into the Canadian Arctic, where it may accelerate the melting of polar ice packs, the researchers said. The researchers emphasized that it would take much more sustained study to understand the international climate ramifications. Until recently, most scientists believed that, with its adverse effects on health and plant life, such aerosol pollution was mostly a local problem. If anything, it helped rather than hindered the climate – at least in terms of global warming – by offsetting the heat-trapping effects of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. At low altitudes, the haze of aerosol particles reflects the sun’s energy back into space, cooling Earth’s surface slightly. At the same time, the particles help form brighter low-altitude clouds that also shield the surface from solar heat. But once these tiny particles reach the upper atmosphere, they generate fierce downpours from super-cooled droplets and ice particles instead of gentle warm showers. At monitoring sites along the U.S. West Coast, scientists have been detecting pollutants that originated from smokestacks and tailpipes thousands of miles to the west. Recently, researchers at the University of Washing
What your opinion Border Patrol vehicles being 'cloned' by Mexican smugglers? Federal agents along the Texas border were warned by the Department of Homeland Security that Mexican drug cartels are using "cloned" Border Patrol vehicles to smuggle drugs into the United States, according to documents obtain by the Washington Examiner. The DHS report was sent to Border Patrol officials in Webb County, Texas, in March. It asked Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement officials to be on alert for "a suspected cloned marked Crown Victoria" the same vehicle type used by the agents. The alert was part of a "significant incident report," which contains information that is not to be made public or released to the media. A U.S. law enforcement Official, with knowledge of drug cartel operations along the border, said "cloned vehicles pose a significant problem for both law enforcement and citizens." He said, "It's especially dangerous since attacks against federal and local law enforcement agents has increased over the past year. The cartels are finding more innovative ways to move across the border and we have to be one step ahead of them." The danger has increased for federal agents on the border, figures showed. Steven Cribby, spokesman for the DHS, said assaults on Border Patrol agents are up "16 percent compared to last year." One federal law enforcement official said incursions over the border from Mexico involving fake Border Patrol vehicles have happened for years. He recalled a chase in which U.S. law enforcement officials pursued a cloned Border Patrol vehicle transporting narcotics until it recrossed the border. "There was very little we could do once the vehicle crossed back into Mexico," he said. Some federal law enforcement officials said intelligence indicates that Mexican law enforcement officials who have been corrupted by payments from drug cartels are assisting in cross-border drug smuggling. "We don't know who to trust anymore," one federal official said. "The problem gets more pronounced when some actual Mexican law enforcement or military are working for the cartels." Texas law enforcement authorities have been complaining that incursions across the border by Mexican police are occurring more frequently, according to Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas. According to Poe, those incursions, "represent how dangerously porous our border still really is." Poe, who serves on the Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime Terrorism, and Homeland Security and Judiciary's Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law Membership, said he will call for hearings on border security. "People who say that the violence on the border won't come into the U.S. live in never-never land," he said. "They don't see what's happening now. We should not wait until something tragic happens before we do something about it." Did anybody else see the final results Arpaio's 2-day sweep nets 83 arrests? A two-day crime suppression sweep by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office led to a total of 83 arrests by Saturday morning on accusations ranging from human smuggling, transporting marijuana to failure to provide identification. On Thursday and Friday, 68 undocumented immigrants were arrested and 14 warrants cleared. Deputies also seized 725 pounds of marijuana, 66 grams of methamphetamine and one stolen car. Deputies uncovered more than 700 pounds of marijuana being carried in backpacks by undocumented immigrants in the southwest desert area of Maricopa County, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Friday. Thursday patrol deputies discovered a drop house on the west side of Phoenix, said Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jesse Spurgin. One of the suspects taken into custody was a woman who has been deported 17 times in the course of eight years, he said. She is suspected of holding three other undocumented immigrants in the house. Deputies said they also found 66 grams of methamphetamine in the house. A spike in human-smuggling arrests in January by patrol deputies prompted the sheriff's office to launch the 18th crime-suppression operation, Arpaio said. Undercover surveillance led to the arrest of 56 suspected illegal immigrants in the days leading up to the sweep. The office's newly formed Illegal Immigration Enforcement Posse joined in the sweep and 200 deputies and volunteers targeted human smuggling, drop houses and illegal drugs across the Phoenix area. Actor Steven Seagal, a member of the Illegal Immigration Enforcement posse, participated in four arrests. Miley Cyrus was being stalked by a 53 man!!!!!!!? SAVANNAH, Ga. – A 53-year-old man who told police he is secretly engaged to marry Miley Cyrus has been charged with attempting to stalk the teenage "Hannah Montana" star, who is filming a movie in the Savannah area. Tybee Island Police Chief Jim Price said Wednesday that Mark McLeod, 53, of Appling was arrested after Walt Disney Pictures security officers reported he had returned to the beachside movie set Sunday after police warned him to stay away in June. "He was asking for Miley and going up and knocking on some doors" of beach homes near the set, Price said. "The security guards recognized him. In fact, he went up to the security guards and asked them, 'Is Miley around?'" Wearing a yellow tank top and denim shorts so droopy that a deputy had to hold them up in back, McLeod appeared briefly before a Municipal Court judge at the Chatham County jail Wednesday afternoon. Judge Steven Scheer set bond for McLeod at $50,000, with conditions that he doesn't return to Tybee Island except for court appearances and he stays away from Cyrus and her family. "Do I make myself perfectly clear?" Scheer said to McLeod, who wore shackles around his wrists and ankles. "I got that. Yes, sir," replied McLeod, who also asked for the court to appoint him a lawyer. Police on Tybee Island, 12 miles east of Savannah, have been on the lookout for McLeod since he was arrested there June 22 on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction of a police officer. Price said officers arrested McLeod after he tried to breach a security perimeter around the movie set. A police report says McLeod told officers he had come to the beach "to be with Miley" and tried to head butt one of them when he was handcuffed. McLeod later told police he and the 16-year-old Cyrus "were supposed to be together and we couldn't stop it." Officer Warren Millikan wrote in his June report that McLeod claimed he'd met Cyrus 18 months earlier, that he'd sent her diamond rings and other gifts and that she had accepted his marriage proposal. The report said McLeod told police Cyrus' father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, approved of their relationship and that Miley Cyrus sent him "secret messages" through her TV show. The officer's report quoted McLeod as saying, "Our eyes met at her concert and we both knew. I walked straight through security and up to her bus. Bill Ray was standing there. He shook my hand and said you're the good man we've been praying for." Cyrus has been working on the movie "The Last Song" in coastal Georgia since mid-June. Filming is supposed to wrap up later this month. McLeod was released from jail in June after signing papers agreeing to return for a court appearance Sept. 1. Price said police obtained a warrant to charge him with criminal attempted stalking, a misdemeanor, after he came back to the island Sunday. McLeod has made no known threats to Cyrus, Price said, but the attempted stalking charge was warranted because "he's been warned by the police officers not to come back after the first arrest." Sheriff's deputies in Columbia County arrested McLeod at his home in Appling, 180 miles from where Cyrus is filming, Tuesday evening. He was transported Wednesday back to jail in coastal Chatham County. In March, the New York Daily news shot video of McLeod waiting in line at a book-signing appearance by Cyrus in Manhattan. "Hold me up. I'm a little bit nervous," said McLeod, shivering in a heavy coat and wool hat. "It's the first time I've ever, uh, actually been face to face with her," McLeod told the newspaper. "I talk to her a lot but it's kind of like I talk and she responds with pictures. It's just the way we communicate. I'm going to get her some flowers and I'm going to ask her to marry me." Yes this story is true. And it is bloody funny.wouldn`t you agree? Little Boy...... I bet she will. Cosmo..... I bet she wants to marry him!She probably believes he is the "one" too!!

ACLU says federal agents do not have the right to defend themselves against rock throwing illegal mexicans? Why do supporters, La Raza, ACLU, Mexico maintain border agents do not have the right to defend themselves against mexicans throwing rocks and now they want agents arrested ? On Tuesday, three men physically assaulted two Border Patrol agents after crossing the border illegally near San Diego. One agent was kicked in the face, and transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. One of the illegal aliens, identified as Jose Alfredo Yanez, 40, ran back through a hole in the border fence and began throwing rocks. He was about to throw a large slab of concrete, when the agent shot him. According to Border Patrol spokesman Steven Pitts, the agent fired multiple shots at Yanez who fell back into Mexico and died from his wounds. Another one of the illegal crossers was arrested, while another escaped successfully back into Mexico. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Kevin Keenan, executive director of the San Diego and Imperial counties chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union questioned the use of lethal force “to stop rock throwers.” Keenan said: “It doesn't meet the most basic humanitarian standards when someone is fleeing and doesn't pose a threat to the safety of others.” According to the U.S. Justice Department’s National Drug Threat Assessment for 2010, there are three Border Patrol agents assaulted every day at or near the Mexican border. The following excerpt appears in the report: “Assaults against U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents increased 46 percent from 752 incidents in FY2006 to 1,097 incidents in FY 2008.” “Contributing most to this increase were rocking assaults, which rose 77 percent from 435 incidents in FY2006 to 769 incidents in FY2008,” said the assessment. “A ‘rocking assault,’ is defined as the throwing of rocks at Border Patrol agents by drug or alien smugglers with the intent of threatening or causing physical harm to the agent.” Continue reading on Examiner.com Illegal alien dead after assaulting Border Patrol agents…ACLU upset - National Immigration Reform | Examiner.com http://www.examiner.com/immigration-reform-in-national/illegal-alien-dead-after-assaulting-border-patrol-agents-aclu-upset#ixzz1Q2HeQZeX So why are illegals being advised throwing rocks at Federal agents is legal ? I need help in deciding a career in computers or mechanics.? O.k. first I need to say thank you for looking at this. I have had some seriously hard times finding a job latley. I was recently laid off and cannot find a job anywhere! I have a cdl with no experiance and I cannot get a company to hire me even stevens transport. My license was suspended for something that does not relate to a semi or a driving job in any way about a year ago. Today I called to see if I was approved for stevens transport and they said that there new policy states that I have to have a valid license for 2 years. So this leads me to looking for work again. I have searched craigslist, yahoo jobs and so on. Applied...But still no hope. I need to get working!!! Sorry for the long paragraph but I feel I might get my situation accross better if I describe things in detail. So with that said, I am unemployed, living with my girlfriend who can barley support us as it is. I was considering going back to school for something along the lines of computers or diesel mechanics. Heavy equipment operation. I would also like to operate a train. I am very mechanically inclined. Also I love to work with computers. I enjoy using programs like fl studio, reason 4, and so on. I dont get too much in depth with it other than that. I like installing windows, and working with software. I dont know what I would go to school for. I dont want to take another pointless course that will get me nowhere in the job market except for in dept to the school. I need something that will get me working and keep me there. Now im not just trying to earn a few bucks. I really enjoy working with computers and engines. I just need to know what feild would best suit me. Im 27 and somewhat dissabled due to a severe knee injury but nothing that would keep me from climbing around a car, I just cant lift alot of weight. Any ideas guys?
