Can anyone tell me how much is the cost of transportation in Malaysia (Public Transport & Taxi)? I'm meeting my cousin in KL for a Holiday, Both of us haven't been to Malaysia. I'm coming from Singapore & she's coming from the Philippines. We're staying there for 3 nights & 3 days. Would it be worth it to just take cabs from one point to another while going to various states (Malacca, Pahang,Selangor,Negeri Sembilan) or can we get something like an EZ-Link card like what we have in Singapore? Please advise as our trip is already on May 1 and I need to do my budget. Thanks in advance.... My cousin is travelling by plane and would land at KLIA on May 2, I am travelling by bus and would arrive at Puduraya Bus Station, we are going to stay in KL during the span of our holiday. Thanks for the itenerary suggestions, we were thinking of having City Tour for th 1st day (KL & Selangor), Island/beach 2nd day (Tioman?), then Heritage & historical (Malacca) 3rd day. Please advise if we have enough time and if our plans are feasible... Thanks! Does Malaysia have an EZ-Link card or something so we can avoid the hassle of queuing to get tickets and all that?

Spending money in Thailand & Malaysia !!? Hi everyone! I'm heading to Thailand and Malaysia in Febuary and March. 30 days in Thailand & 3 days in Malaysia Now, i am curious about how much spending money i will need for my trip ($AUD). I am going with my husband, and we plan on taking $200 per day or $8000 for the entire trip (between the both of us). Will this amount be perfect, too much or not enough? We plan to do a little bit of shopping, some sight seeings, public transports, few nice dinner nights and some massages. Other wise, just relaxing at the beaches, cruise around the area and cheap/average meals on the streets. Oh by the way, flights, taxes, transport to/from airport and accommodation have already been paid for. Look forward to seeing everybody's response! Will appreciate all your answers. Thanks for the answers guys, helped and appreciate it heaps

How do I get from Krabi, Thailand, to Langkawi in Malaysia via bus/train/boat? I'm travelling around south east Asia in November and need to get from Bangkok to Singapore via road. I have decided to stop in Krabi for part of my trip but then want to get to Langkawi in northern Malaysia. I've looked online for suggestions and it seems the most feasible option is to take a bus to Satun and then cross the border there, however does anyone know the approximate time of travel and cost? There's no way I can afford to fly or rent my own vehicle so it's all going to be done by public transport, but I'm also unsure of how safe the southern Thailand area is at the moment? If anyone could help, that'd be great!

Cost of living for individual in Singapore ? I'm currently working in Malaysia. I've just been offered a job in Singapore, and I'd like to see if it's worth my while to move. I'm offered S$2000, Singapore office based in Cecil Street. I'd like some suggestions as to the kinds of expenses in terms of: 1) Lodgings - single room, partly furnished, utilities inclusive. 2) Transportation - cost, and recommended to bring own car from M'sia or rely on SG public transport? 3) Food - Total based on mostly take out, cook @ home and occasional fancy restaurants 4) Communications - avg calls per month, factor calls back home to M'sia 5) Etc... I currently already have fixed expenses at almost RM1000 (or around S$500) excluding room rental. So with all those in mind, is it worth to stay at Singapore at S$2000? Would also appreciate suggestions of places to stay in SG based on recommended budget / expenses given

The law on barring foreigners for fuel purchases by malay leader is unproductive to our nation True/False? When foreigners are barred from fuel and 1) Your overseas relative who comes to malaysia for holiday, will require malaysians to apply working/school leave to drive them around because they cannot access fuel barred by govt reducing work productivity and economic losses of lesser manpower at work. 2) All international people will consume up public transport, flooding/overcrowding all public transports in long queues due to large amount of legal or illegal immigrants who are allowed passing custom borders using syariah law letter approved by ulamas, because the amount of immigrants entering borders daily already bypass our current malaysian populations in terms of quantity. 3) Every malaysian will have to be in a foreigner car accompanying them whenever a foreigner is in the car gather misunderstanding on relationships creating more broken relationships because a foreigner is barred on patrol, causing too many marital problems amongst malaysian on misunderstandings by the seeing party Every malaysia will have to sit in a car with a foreigner for local travelling, making double drivers needed in travelling within east and west malaysia and sometimes its redundant when the malaysian may be able to contribute double effort while the foreigner can be independant in driving and the malaysia can be relieved in more important work related business matters than sitting in the car every day Foreigners will have to borrow malaysian credit card to pay for petrol and this may breach banking security when credit card personal details and card details are being circulated within our country just to help foreigners in getting their car up and running Does your govt or business annually pays or reduces your salary or make more value out of your salary yearly?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHVr-lnFRRk You decide base on the consensus ok? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY1AKX9iz6c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuSR34jaLo0
Words from heart of a Malaysian for state government and all!!!? I stayed in Semabok, Malacca, Malaysia for about 20 years. There were no proper bus flow. The bus pass here are from Muar and end at 6 pm. Children travel to Sri Kota School in Air Leleh or High School in Bandar Hilir are normally sent by their parents, sometime they walk to school or motorcycle, bicycle, old or new cars and caused traffic jam at Bukit Senjuang. Sometime High school children walk home through a place near Tan Kim Hock hotel, I hope the town council create a road to high school to avoid heavy trafic. Not only that people stay in Semabok must either own a bicycle, ride motor or drive an old or new car to work. There is no public transport after 6 pm. Once when I was young, i walk home and my bag was snatched. There are part of my bonus withdraw to buy new year clothes and some for parents. I am tired of Malaysia racism. I always try to highlight that I am a Malaysian regardless of my colour or religion. We should be like brothers and sisters in the vomb of our motherland. Recently the strange feeling come to me after watching tv or reading words from the politicians. Oops! why our early chinese fellow has to sign an agreement about our status of citizenship and help to make the Malaysia Merdeka. Could it be 1) they are very good friend of Tunku Abdul Rahman 2) fall in love to a beautiful Malay lady or princess or lastly 3) the British want to chase the chinese out (well! I doint think so since the Chinese are very hard working people in all corner on earth. Can someone tell me the reason. Some racism politician words are hurting, make me feel disgrace and feel very non-Malaysian.
Should I move? I’m currently studying in Petaling Jaya, Selangor Malaysia. But, I stay in KL. That is very far from my campus. It takes me 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach school. Recently, my classmates ask me to move in to PJ with them. Actually, it’s fine. But, my future roommate is quite serious. I mean her personality. I scared that I can’t get along well with her. My friends tell me better not stay with classmates. It’s because sooner and later will quarrel. I know my residence now is very far. I have to wake up 2 hour earlier before class. If not I will be late for class. I have to take taxi to LRT station everyday. Then, travel 40 minutes by LRT to PJ. Then, have to wait for the bus. The problems are I cannot make up my mind whether I want to move. The place that I stay currently is very comfortable compare to the apartment in PJ. The transport and beverage is very convenience. While in PJ the public transport is not convenience. My classmate have car, but I can’t rely fully on them right? Apart from that, I not willing to leave my sister. I will miss her dearly if I move out. We have to sign 2 year contract with the house agent, that’s confuse me. I afraid that I make the wrong decision. What should I do? I’m so confuse?

A Temporary Stop to the Influx of PRC & India White-Collar Workers? Dear All, First of all, I'm not biased against China and India nationals coming to stay or make investments in Singapore. However, I've noticed a worrying trend in Singapore in recent years: more and more China and India nationals are entering our white-collar workforce. This means that we Singaporeans are facing greater and greater competition from the white-collar professionals coming from these two countries, especially China. My company closed operations last Dec and I came back to look for a job in Feb. Since then, I have been searching for jobs in vain and attending countless interviews with companies ranging from manufacturing, services and civil sectors. Unfortunately, all these are unsuccessful and I even ended up cheated by a SME who initially intended to employ me but bluffed me later with many nonsensical reasons. While I'm figuring what goes wrong in my job search, I started to read or hear many many comments from the media and my friends that there are many foreign workers in our workforce nowadays. Whenever I'm taking public transport, I can hear lots of foreign accents around, mostly from China and India. These foreign workers are no longer the blue-collar workers whom we used to see in the past. What's worse is that most young Singaporeans are highly educated, meaning we will be competing with these foreign white collar workers for the decreasing number of jobs. The reasons why I don't mention about foreign workers from other countries like Malaysia and Philippines are because they don't come in large numbers and most of them will eventually go back to their own countries for good. The China nationals are especially smart and hardworking and some of them are even employed in our civil sectors before they even become citizens/ PRs. Now I finally understand why Taiwan or the United States are worried about the employment of China nationals in their countries... I sincerely hope that more and more Singaporeans will be aware of the threats from China and India in economic competition and our local job market. I believe some sort of protectionism has to be enforced selectively on some countries because free trade and labour flow do not work in some areas for the benefit of our nation. Don't forget that the combined population of China & India is 2.4 billion!
Question about spending money in Thailand? Hello everyone, I am going to Thailand in a few weeks (Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya & Bangkok) a bit over 4 weeks and I am going to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) as well for a few days. So altogether, 5 weeks. I'm going with my wife and we plan on taking $6000 - $6500 ($AUD) for 5 weeks. We would like to do some: site seeing & tour attractions public transport some shopping mainly in Bangkok massages and spa treatments clubs & bars (2/3 times a week) 2/3 beers each time i head out to the bars, my wife doesn't really drink much eating out at from street food to cheap/average and a few classy restaurants. So do you think $6000 - $6500 ($AUD) would be enough for the both of us for 5 weeks? Too much, not enough or perfect? I would like to know how much you've spent daily/weekly when you went Thailand as well? & what things did you do? Just so i can compare it to us :) Looking forward to hear all your answers, all answers will be greatly appreciated muchly

I am a foreigner came with my wife to visit Malaysia but its eyesore to see the roads with many pothholes? Why? I heard from friends that Malaysian is a fast developing country and has got excellent airports and landmarks like Petronas Twin Towers etc. But, to my supprise when I travel along Bangsar, Mont Kiara, Petaling Jaya ( Jalan Gasing), OUG, Jalan Puchong, and other important roads in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a lot of pothholes are found. Most of the roads are badly maintained. What the Transport Minister and Public Works department in your country is doing? What about the KL Mayor or Federal Territory ministor or Deputy Ministor doing? Daily I watch in your TV, ministers and MPs are talking and talking on stage about petty matters related to opposition only? When read newspapers its same story. Whats happening to the respective ministers who are in charge for all these matters? Where are they?
Tamil Refugees tried to take asylum in Australia and Canada by Ships Can they escape from Sri Lanka? Mon, Oct 19 08:48 AM Vancouver, Oct 19 (IANS) Canadian authorities have thwarted a major attempt at human smuggling, seizing a ship-load of refugees possibly from Sri Lanka near Vancouver Saturday. The ship bearing the name of Ocean Lady was carrying 76 males. The passengers were brought to Vancouver Sunday and sent to correctional facilities (jail) for questioning. The ship was spotted in the sea near the Canadian coast and escorted by the authorities into Victoria which is the capital of British Columbia province. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said its officers took control of the ship Friday afternoon. Though it is an obvious attempt at human smuggling, the RCMP and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said they were questioning the passengers to ascertain the origin of the ship. 'The individuals have been transported to ... a corrections facility (jail) in Vancouver, where the CBSA will continue to examine their admissibility to Canada,' the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said Sunday. 'We are acting quickly to meet the immediate personal and health needs of these individuals, and we are processing them in an efficient manner and in accordance with Canadian law,' Rob Johnston of the CBSA said the statement. Canadian Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan said in Ottawa that preliminary inquiry hinted that the ship came from Sri Lanka. David Poopalapillai, the vocal spokesman for the Canadian Tamil Congress, also said the passengers looked like Tamils. He said the Tamils were being forced to take such risks as they faced a dire situation in Sri Lanka after the recent conflict. Though a few large-scale attempts at human smuggling have been foiled in recent past, lax Canadian laws make human smuggling - particularly at a small scale - very easy. Once a person manages to enter this country illegally, it is very difficult to remove him because of cumbersome laws. Currently, there are more than 60,000 refuge seekers in this country. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tamils flee genocide — refugees should be welcomed! Jay Fletcher 19 October 2009 On October 15, almost 260 Tamil refugees were stranded at an Indonesian port in west Java. They were refusing to disembark from the boat that had carried them from Malaysia and pleaded for the Australian government to hear their case. That evening they declared a hunger strike. Alex,a spokesperson for the group, told the media: “We decided on the strike to let the whole world know that we need their assistance as soon as possible. We need somebody to consider our case.” The hunger strike was ended on October 17, although the refugees still refuse to leave their boats. The boat had been moored at Merak after it was caught sailing toward Australian waters. The Indonesian navy took it to the port. The move was at the specific request of Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who had phoned his Indonesian counterpart and fed “top-level intelligence detailing the whereabouts of the boat”, the West Australian said on October 13. The information had come from Australian border security based in Indonesia. Alex told Green Left Weekly by phone that the refugees are escaping government-driven genocide in Sri Lanka. “We have run away from a war, a 26-year war against our people and we are fleeing genocide”, he said. Tamils are victims of war crimes in Sri Lanka. Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka have released reports of widespread abductions and executions at the behest of Sri Lankan officials. Three hundred thousand Tamils remain imprisoned in government concentration camps. Alex told ABC journalists, “there is not the opportunity for Tamils to survive in Sri Lanka”. He told GLW the asylum seekers were devastated by Australia's actions. “When people are fleeing war and genocide, how can a country think protecting themselves is more important than helping these people?” he told GLW. “The world is for all of humankind, we are just like you except we do not have a country.” The October 16 Age said two of the refugees on hunger strike were taken to hospital in a “critical condition”. These refugees escaped, risked everything, got out by boat, spent one month hiding in a Malaysian jungle and then made it close enough to Australian waters to prompt the PM himself to intervene and turn them away. Despite their clear fear and desperation, no Australian authority, government or border protection personnel, have approached or talked to them. In fact, since Rudd's phone call, they've been completely dismissed. On October 15, deputy PM Julia Gillard declared the refugees were Indonesia's problem. The event has fuelled government and media panic about the rise in boatloads of people from war-torn countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq and, increasingly, Sri Lanka. But this concern is steeped in racist

AUTISM Isolated in worlds of their own, people with autism appear indifferent and remote and are unable to form emotional bonds with others. Although people with this baffling brain disorder can display a wide range of symptoms and disability, many are incapable of understanding other people's thoughts, feelings, and needs. Often, language and intelligence fail to develop fully, making communication and social relationships difficult. Many people with autism engage in repetitive activities, like rocking or banging their heads, or rigidly following familiar patterns in their everyday routines. Some are painfully sensitive to sound, touch, sight, or smell. Children with autism do not follow the typical patterns of child development. In some children, hints of future problems may be apparent from birth. In most cases, the problems become more noticeable as the child slips farther behind other children the same age. Other children start off well enough. But between 18 and 36 months old, they suddenly reject people, act strangely, and lose language and social skills they had already acquired. As a parent, teacher, or caregiver you may know the frustration of trying to communicate and connect with children or adults who have autism. You may feel ignored as they engage in endlessly repetitive behaviors. You may despair at the bizarre ways they express their inner needs. And you may feel sorrow that your hopes and dreams for them may never materialize. But there is help-and hope. Gone are the days when people with autism were isolated, typically sent away to institutions. Today, many youngsters can be helped to attend school with other children. Methods are available to help improve their social, language, and academic skills. Autism is found in every country and region of the world, and in families of all racial, ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds. Emerging in childhood, it affects about 3 or 4 people in every thousand and is three to four times more common in boys than girls. Girls with the disorder, however, tend to have more severe symptoms and lower intelligence. THE TOLE is dedicated to understanding the workings and inter-relationships of the various regions of the brain, and to developing preventive measures and new treatments for disorders like autism that handicap people in school, work, and social relationships and brain damage or vegetable. What is ADHD? ADHD often prevents children from learning and socializing well. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) refer to a range of problem behaviors associated with poor attention span. These may include impulsiveness, restlessness and hyperactivity, as well as inattentiveness, and often prevent children from learning and socializing well. ADHD is sometimes referred to as hyper kinetic disorder. What are the symptoms of ADHD Attention difficulties A child must have exhibited at least six of the following symptoms for at least six months to an extent that is unusual for their age and level of intelligence. Fails to pay close attention to detail or makes careless errors during work or play. Fails to finish tasks or sustain attention in play activities. Seems not to listen to what is said to him or her. Fails to follow through instructions or to finish homework or chores (not because of confrontational behavior or failure to understand instructions). Disorganized about tasks and activities. Avoids tasks like homework that require sustained mental effort. Loses things necessary for certain tasks or activities, such as pencils, books or toys. Easily distracted. Forgetful in the course of daily activities. Hyperactivity A child must have exhibited at least three of the following symptoms for at least six months to an extent that is unusual for their age and level of intelligence. Runs around or excessively climbs over things Unduly noisy in playing, or has difficulty in engaging in quiet leisure activities. Leaves seat in classroom or in other situations where remaining seated is expected. Fidgets with hands or feet or squirms on seat. Impulsivity At least one of the following symptoms must have persisted at least for six months to an extent that is unusual for their age and level of intelligence. Blurts out answers before the questions have been completed. Fails to wait in lines or await turns in games or group situations. Interrupts or intrudes on others, e.g. jump into others conversations or games. Talks excessively without appropriate response to social restraint. Pervasiveness of attention difficulties and hyperactivity For a diagnosis or description of ADHD a child would be expected to show the above difficulties in more than one setting, e.g. at school and at home. Problems are not shown 'at home' but are very evident when a child goes to a hospital department. This can happen when parents do not realize that their child's behavior is out of the normal range (perhaps because they have no other children, or they have other children who behave similarly). It may also be because the problems are mild, or because the family has handled the attention lack at home in such a way that it is not evident there is a major problem, or because the child is very young. In those cases it is quite reasonable for parents not to consider that their child has an attention deficit problem. These conditions has a good chance to be treated, it will take time and effort to do it. The Tole's way of remedies for them is not easy and tedious, the good part is it works with many of them. Some adults that just have AD should be able to recovers too with our Remedies. The Tole's Brain Powder Autism ADHD Treatment for all special kids Treatment. Fails to wait in lines or await turns in games or group situations. Interrupts or intrudes on others, likes to jump into others conversations or games. Talks excessively without appropriate response to social restraint. ADHD or Others causes Epileptic seizures can cause a child to become drowsy, impairing their attention. Epilepsy can also cause unusual behavior and lead to abnormal perceptions. Hearing problems such as deafness or glue ear can make it hard for a child to follow instructions and make them appear inattentive. Reading problems, making it hard to complete tasks or follow instructions. Obsessive compulsive disorder leads to people following strange rituals that preoccupy their thoughts and distract their attention. Tourette's syndrome involves repetitive, involuntary jerking movements of the body and sudden outbursts of noise or swearing. Autism and Asperger's syndrome often lead to difficulties in understanding and using language. Prolonged periods of insufficient sleep, causing poor concentration. Some children may be very active or be easily distracted or have difficulty concentrating. If these behaviours are relatively mild, they should not be considered a disorder. Others difficulties that occurs alongside Autism ADHD ADHD often occurs alongside other difficulties and is not the sole cause of problem behavior. Children may exhibit temper tantrums, sleep disorders, and be clumsy. Other behavioral problems that occur with ADHD include: confrontational defiant behavior, which occurs in most of these kids. The child loses their temper, argues and refuses to comply with adults and deliberately annoys others. conduct disorders occur in at least 25 per cent of children. The child may be destructive or show deceitful behavior such as lying, breaking rules and stealing. specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia, occur in 25-30 per cent of children. severe clinical depression occurs in about 30 per cent of children. anxiety disorders occur in 30 per cent of children. What causes ADHD? Biological Temperamental, as this contributes to their attitude and personality. Twins suggest a genetic link to ADHD. In 80-90 per cent of identical twins where one has ADHD so does the other. Recent research also suggests there is a greater chance of inheriting the condition from male relatives such as grandfathers and uncles. Brain injuries due to birth trauma or pre-birth problems. The brain structures believed to be linked to the development of ADHD are vulnerable to hypoxic damage during birth. The damage is caused by inadequate oxygen (QI flow) reaching parts of the brain while blood flow is reduced. Environmental conditions: Family stress. Educational difficulties. ADHD diagnosis Observations to the assessment of a child with possible ADHD. There is no single diagnostic test for ADHD so different sorts of information needs to be gathered, such as the following: History of symptoms The precise nature of the difficulties, when they were first noticed, in what situations they occur, factors that exacerbate or relieve them. Medical history Risk factors that could predispose the child to ADHD include difficulties and risks in pregnancy and during birth, for example if the mother was in poor health, very young or drank alcohol or smoked or had an extended or complicated labor. Several medical conditions are known to be associated with ADHD. These include fragile-X syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, G6PD deficiency, phenylketonuria and generalized resistance to thyroid hormone. Accidents, operations and chronic medical conditions such as epilepsy, asthma and heart, liver and kidney disorders all need to be taken in to account. Also of possible relevance is any medication the child is taking, as well as any adverse reactions they have had to medication in the past. Past psychiatric history: Enquiring about any mental health problems the child has had can help rule out depression or anxiety being behind the symptoms. Educational history: This means the level of their ability and what specific difficulties they have, how they function within their peer group and get on with teachers, and any behavior difficulties such as suspensions or exclusions. Family history: The mental and physical health of the child's parents and other family members can be relevant, particularly regarding the incidence of ADHD or depression. Less then 1% ahs the family history but this is one of the research data base. Social assessment: The family's social circumstances, such as housing, poverty, and social support may all have an impact on the child's behavior. Less then 4 % has this problem but it should be taken into consideration. What treatment is available for ADHD?
