- Are you looking for public transport in Budapest? http://drott.cis.drexel.edu/hungary/budametro.html
- The taxis at the airport are reasonable cheap. You can get from Ferihegy airport to central Budapest for 5000 forint = $25. In Buda and Pest the underground works really well. You need to buy a book of 10 stamps from the ticket office for 10 bus/subway journeys. If you show them 10 fingers they will probably know what you mean ;-) The trains are really cheap but are very rundown and rarely have working aircon. http://www.budapesthotels.com/touristguide/Travelaroundbytrain.asp The busses are really slow as there are not many motorways there. Use the word "Volan" for internet searching of bus services. When I go there I hire a car as its only about $80 a day. Fox car rental are the cheapest. Enjoy! ps - go to a restaurant called "Spoon". Its a boat by the chain bridge on the Pest side of the Danube. Its the best food in the world and I have been to a lot of places around the world...
- Just be sure to buy your tickets before you get on the bus or subway, they give large fines for not having a ticket since you must buy them before getting on. most underground newpaper stands will sell them or new shops top side if you can find one, they have ticket machines but are often broken.
