What is the public transportation system like in Columbia, South Carolina?

I'll soon be relocating to Columbia, South Carolina. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my '94 Mazda will make the trip with me. As a new car and a new policy is a bit out of reach, I'm curious if the local public transports will suffice. Any local or anyone with information regarding Columbia in general or the public transports, please share the knowledge.

1. We live in Columbia. We do have public buses, however, there are usually not seats or an area to wait. It is a problem the city is working on.. but we do have plenty of public buses. Sometimes there is just a sign in a grassy area on the side of a busy street. If you need any more info about Columbia, just email me at spendergast5@yahoo.com Good luck with the move!
