which is the best city for a family with 2 small children to live in, Brisbane or Perth,?

My husband, me and our two children aged 2 and 3 years old are migrating from the u.k to Australia next year. My husband is a motor mechanic and I am a full time mummy! At the moment we are totally confused about were to live, our two favourites are Brisbane and Perth but we just can't decide. We would like to be near schools, shops, public transport and preferably a beach! Any information about Perth and Brisbane and which is best to live in would be greatly appreciated. And also information on the best Suburbs to live in. Thanks

1. Theyre both good. Brisbane is closeer to the Gold Coast but Perth has nice beaches too.........Perth is kinda stuck way out over the other side of the country wheras Brissy is closer to all the main cities.
2. perth is on the west coast......brisbane is on the east coast . haven't been to either for a long time . both have great beaches,and both have a lot of mining activity further inland(fly in/fly out) great money. hard choice really ,both great. tassie is tops but
3. Well, I live in Perth, and I'd have to say go for Brisbane. Perth is ok if you want to be bored out of your mind half the time!!
