i mean i live in canada and we ski in winters, and yesterday we went all the way up north to ski but the ski resorts wer all closed bcuz there was absolutely no snow in the mountains, were in january its suppose to be like -40 C but its +10 C, its ovious that its the affects of global warming SO PPL PLZ DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BFORE ITS TOO LATE, take the public transports, reduce ur emissions, if ur gonna buy a new car make sure its a hybrid... the effects will only get worse i know its an el nino year but mixed with global warming lol so its worse than an el nino year

- lmao it's just a slow snow season people al gore is a moron
- A lot of people blame global warming. My theory is that it is a result of the recent very heated elections in the US.
- It has nothing to do with global warming. Weather patterns are cyclical. Every few years we have a mild winter, just like every few years we have a harsh winter. El Nino is the major factor. Next winter we'll all be complaining that it's too cold. I'll be sure to pass the message that it's actually global warming on to my former meterology professor- I'm sure she'll be happy to have learned something new that refutes everything she has been taught and everything she has been teaching for the last 20 years.
- You answered your own question, but I agree. Although I believe ElNnino is a part of it.
- Two words: "Global Warming".
- im in buffalo,ny and im not complaining
- Global warming maybe but WE as a "Whole" country that is, are not willint to give up our "conviniences". Not being rude! Its a fact though. Not every one cares really. I do and so do you and about 50 % of the world but not everyone does and some dont even realize it at all. I live in CONNEcticut BRRR, usually, not now, it's February and will be in the 70's tommorrow. OMG are you kidding me I said. I actually want some snow so I can have an excuse to complain about the weather HEHE.
- What much of that area of Canada is experiencing is part of a cycle that for this season and timing of is more profound than others for the occurance. Canada is seeing the affects of El-Nino or the warm phase of the Pacific Cycle. In this stage warm Pacific waters have had an affect on storm systems that normally travel west to east after forming over the Northeastern Pacific or in that general area - just south of Alaska or near the Gulf of Alaska, or in the Central and Western Pacific ocean. Patterns during this phase often drive systems over your area. However, storm systems and the overall storm track has changed due to the warmer waters off of the Pacific Ocean where El-Nino has occured. This has caused two specific problems. One of which is affecting your area more profundly than the other. Your average temperatures are warmer and the amount of precipitation is less than that of your normal snow season. This pattern is expected to continue through the remainder of winter before some neutralization of the overall pattern is seen. For more information visit the sources below.
