1. Yes but very Little your best option would be a taxi
2. There's even public transport on Xmas day - we all caught the bus to Bondi to have Xmas day on the beach - as you do when backpacking. It is limited though
3. Hi yes public transport does run on public holidays but being a holiday of note [26th] all services run to a sunday time table.
