how much to rent a car,cheaply,4 3months in sydney?

heading over to sydney soon for 3months and was wondering if it would cost us much to rent a cheap car for the 3months,supose anything that can get us to a to b..would it be very exspensive r are we better to stick with public transport?? thks

1. bayswater car rentals seemed the best for us. i think long term loans were from $15 per day. you can also try a place called 'rent a ruffy'. good luck.
2. Are you travelling on your own or together with friends and family? Are you going to stay in Sydney only and surroundings for 3 months or are you going to see other cities and landscapes as well? Going to the north towards Brisbane and Cairns on the highway as well? Or to the south towards Melbourne and Adelaide? To the red centre? If you are on your own staying in Sydney only you might get you a monthly ticket for public transport. If together with family you're better travelling by car. If going to visit places I mentioned above you're also better by car - if being alone or with friends, doesn't matter. Anyway, instead to rent a car for a use of 3 months I'd recommend to buy a cheap car and sell it before you leave the country again. This comes cheaper than a rent but make sure the dealer buys the car back at the end of the 3 months and write this down on the contract when you buy it.
3. car rental for 3 mths are you kidding? the cheapest is Budget and Euro car about $35-40 per day 3 mths allow $3000 (petrol at $1.40 per litre) Sydney's public transport have the most frequent trains and buses in Australia
