What is the cost of living in Moscow compared to Australia?

I need to find out what I would expect to pay for rent, public transport, entertainment, groceries, etc in moscow. I'm not extravagant so estimations need not be over-the-top. Also, what would I have to earn in Moscow to maintain a similar lifestyle if my salary in Sydney was US$100k after tax ?

For normal life as in Sidney you need spend per a month about 3.000-5.000$ american,not aussie $,rent must be about 1.000$ per a month- middle price,transport-bus about 70 cents...Its a life of middle class,about high level dont know. But if you will make 8.000$ per a month i think it would very good.

3. The cost of living in Moscow can vary dramatically. The majority of local people make LESS then average income in Sydney, not even close to $100K, and they make it ok, knowing places and ways how to make living cheaper. So my advice would be - get some guidance from local people and they help you with cost of living and how not to get ripped on that. If you do so, you'll be just fine.
