Short term accommodation in Sydney?

I will be in Sydney, Australia for 6 weeks from the begining of August and am looking for self catering accomodation/short term rental for this period. Ideally in the city centre or close to the city centre along public transport lines

1. Sit on a park bench!
2. Why not try a hostel they are cheap plentiful and my son is staying in one in Sydney right now that's en suite
3. coogee or bondi have lots of flats for rent especially in their winter (August) and both close to public transport which is by the way fab and much better than ours! Get a weekly pass and you can use bus, train or ferry - it's great! Have fun and good luck!

5. we stayed here... http://www.apartmentsbondibeach.com/ its bondi beach, but bus stop right outside so pretty good links, dont know whether its close enough though. But will be a lot cheaper than the centre! Hope it helps! x
6. Look around the Kings Cross area. Handy for transport and much cheaper than City Centre.
7. Would have to say Kings Cross just about central for bars and shops as well as acomodation You will enjoy being there I did.
