What is the nearest Amtrak station to San Francisco Intl Airport and what public transport will take me there?

1. Technically, the Amtrak station that "serves" San Francisco is Emeryville (near Oakland). However, it's not easy to get to from SFO International. You'll have to take the BART subway to either Embarcadero or MacArthur stations. From Embarcadero station, Amtrak runs a direct shuttle bus to Emeryville for ticketed passengers. Go above ground and walk across the square. The bus stop is right next to the Ferry Terminal (clock tower). If you do not have an Amtrak ticket yet, go all the way to MacArthur station. A free "Emery-Go-Around" bus runs to the Amtrak station. The bus stop is downstairs, right next to the fare gates. Alternatively, you can use San Jose's Amtrak station. Take BART to Millbrae station (only one stop from the airport) and transfer to the Caltrain commuter rail. This will take you directly to San Jose's Amtrak station (which it shares with Caltrain).
2. The closest Amtrack stations are in Oakland and Emeryville. All San Francisco locations have Thruway connecting services to the two stations in the East Bay. 3. at the Richmond station there direct connections from Amtrak to Bart at this station then you can take Bart to the San Francisco airport Bart station, if you are coming say from Los Angeles you could from the starlight you could also get off at San Jose then take cal train to Millerbee then bart to the airport just be advise you will have to pay a surcharge to alight at the SFO bart station
4. Take Amtrak to San Jose Diridon station on Cahill street, then take Caltrain (baby bullet) from the same station to Millbrae. This takes less than an hour. Take bart from there to SFO, which takes less than 10-15 mins.
