Location Transport

How can I go from San Francisco to Monterey with public transportation ?

I'll go to San Francisco in holidays but I won't have a car so I want to know how I can go from San Francisco to Monterey (please be precise : What is the transport ? where is the station ?...). Thanks so much.

1. You could take Amtrak to Salinas, then a bus from Salinas to Monterey. The Amtrak station is in Emeryville or Oakland. Catch the shuttle bus at the Amtrak office on the Embarcadero. Here's the MST website for routes and schedules: http://www.mst.org/
2. You could do Greyhound. I used them in downtown San Fran. I am not sure but the rates have always been cheap when I used them. KC
