budget accomodation in San Francisco?

hi.. i am visiting SFO on a student budget.. can u suggest some cheap / decent place to stay which is easily accessible by a public transport system... not a very flashy place but decent and from where i am well connected to see most places to see in SFO

1. try ayh hostels or the PARK HOTEL ON SUTTER IT RUNS ABOUT $200 a week
2. Try the hostels. They're all pretty centrally located, inexpensive and clean. The Fort Mason one is the nicest, and a five minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf. If you do decide to hostel, make your reservation right away. They fill up fast.
3. Golden Gate Park find a nice bench snooze in the day,party in the City at night
