VW Transporter Tdi cutting out on acceleration?

As I accelerate in 3rd gear my van seems to cut out for a second & then loses it's power it had prior to this happening.As it cuts out passengers have said it felt like I had took my foot off the accelerator or had braked. My van is 6 years old & has just had a new exhaust so that wasn't the problem. My partner has a van the same age, model & they don't compare at all these days. Mine seems sluggish. Any ideas on what it could be?

1. Check your fuel system for clogged fuel filter(s) and/or a bad fuel pump.
2. certainly a fuel problem poss a blocked fuel filter
3. had a similar problem. the fuel solanoid on the pump is fed direct from the alternater - faulty diode causes powerfeed to cut out result fuel valve shuts. it will stop completely one day without warning ! i put an ignition feed to solanoid - perfect
4. Take it to the shop for help.
5. vw and newer vauxhalls are prone to the air flow meters not working properly maybe something to get checked as not getting proper fuel air mix and will feel sluggish
6. IF IT LACKS POWER BUT OK AGAIN AFTR IGNTION OFF/ON PROB OVERBOOSTING FROM TURBO.
