How would I go about shipping crested geckos?

I know to put them in humid deli-cups, but I'm unsure how to get the 'perishable' box from the shipping company without letting them know what I'm shipping. Would they let me get the box and put together what I'm shipping at home? (This is my first time shipping)

  1. Just make your own box out of some styrofoam and a thick cardboard box. You should also be able to get specimen box from your local hospital or a lab. They don't ask you what's in the box. You can also prepay shipping online, mark the box perishable and call it that. You don't have to tell them what's in it... and if they do, tell them it's plants. That's what I do. I find prepaying shipping and just dropping the box at the counter works the best. And make sure you ALWAYS do express overnight. NEVER anything slower than that. And use heat and cold packs if necessary.
  2. Hello; here are two websites that you may find helpful. The first discusses shipping reptiles and how to go about it, and the second sells all of the shipping supplies (including the 'perishable' boxes) that you may need. :) Shipping information: http://www.arbreptiles.com/shipping/index.shtml Shipping Supplies: http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/deli-containers-shipping-boxes-packing-material/ I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you. :) Good luck with your Cresties!
