Can I include shipping and handling expenses in my itemized deductions?

I am a teacher and obviously I spend more than my 250 standard deduction. I am itemizing all of my expenses from last year. I buy several items for my classroom on ebay. Can I deduct the entire amount I paid including shipping and handling? Or can I only deduct the amount I paid for the item. Example I bought tactile letters fee was 12.99 shipping and handling was 5.00 total- 17.99 can I deduct this entire amount or can I only deduct the fee.

  3. Add the shipping and handling charges to the cost of your purchases. That is how it works in accounting.
  4. u claim the total costs of products that includes ship/handle.
  5. Sure...but if your total for the rest of your unreimbursed business expenses is less than 2% of your AGI or if you don't itemize, it won't change your tax bill any.
