Location Transport

I mailed an item out with dhl. It was damaged in transit. Will the shipping charges be refunded as well?

I sold some stuff on ebay. Every item had insurance on it. One of the items I sent got broke in the mail and I am going to give a refund back to the buyer. Do I refund the amount they paid for the item or do I refund the amount of the item and the shipping costs as well. If dhl won't refund the shipping cost then I don't want to get totally screwed here.

1. DHL will refund shipping and the insurance amount. They will however not refund the amount of insurance paid.
