Hi I have a problem with 1994 vw Transporter....runs perfect but hard started when cold glowplug light works?
would anyone know what the problem is? thanks

- Just because your glowplug light works doesn't mean the glowplugs are ok. This is usually main cause of diesel being hard to start in the cold and where i would start. If you fancy doing it yourself you can get plugs from about £2.99 in some places to £9.99 in places like halfords. Thats per plug.
- Agree with Nick A ,the glow light working isnt always a true indication as depending on the system,one two three or all of the glow plugs may be down,but with a test light they can be tested.There is a possability the relay may be inoperative,but by following the wires around this can be found.However the plugs are quite the easiest to change,and by shopping around a tenner would buy them and probably needs them anyway in terms of age,good luck
- More than likely a glow plug or more than one, but try parking overnight with front facing downhill to rule out air getting into fuel line. Cheers, Gizz.
