Does anyone have any experience with shipping a car cross-country?
Does anyone know the approximate cost to ship a car? I need to ship from Oregon to Michigan. Any help would be appreciated.

- It used to be that you would have to find a driver to drive it paying for his round trip. However, these days you can contact an independent flatbed trucker to trasport it. Of course there are always transport companies, but you will be paying their round trip too. Its been a while since I worked doing this, like twenty years, so I couldn't tell you exact quotes. Since I am now retired I would be willing to pull your car there for a negotiated sum on a car hauler. If you can't find any satisfaction at the places I mentioned, lets negotiate.
- Well, I hope for your sake there is a cheaper way than how our family had our vehicles transported from Seattle WA to Charlotte NC. We paid just short of a thousand per car. That was through a moving company though. There has to be a cheaper way. Type in "transport a car" on a search engine site and you will find many sites which promise free quotes for transporting cars. The site below offers 50% off. Best of luck.
- I know from Mass to NY, it's between $100 to $125. From New York to Florida I've had paid $300 and now because of gas prices $450 Froom Philadelphia to the Dominican Republics ( by ship obviously ) it ranges to $750 to $1000. Research for local auto transporters, car carriers, they give you estimates. There are so many of them out there in all the states. This is buy truck by the way If you do find one, still compare for best prices, and make sure they are INSURED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe a local used car dealer might refer a ransporter to you, or check the yellow pages online, this isn't too hard
- I can provide you with a free quote I just need a little more information regarding year, make, model. Email: Sales@cartwrighttrans.com Indicate your a referal from Yahoo Answers. Thanks!!
- All of your questions can be answered at http://www.transportreviews.com/ They currently have over 5400 rating and reviews on 339 auto transporters. So there are a lot of experiences out there. :-) The approximate cost can be found using the price by route tool at: http://www.transportreviews.com/directory/infobyroute.asp It shows four moves and reviews by customers moving from Oregon to Michigan. The average five out of five star rating cost is $1048 for that route. The prices range from $970 to $1149. When you get ready to get quotes from top rated companies on that site you can submit a form at: http://www.vehicletransport.com/ I hope that helps. Good luck with your move!
