Shipping a car from US to Israel?
I live in Israel, and I miss my car that is still in America! Does anyone know about how much shipping the car would cost and the name of a reputable shipping company that deals with these matters? Thanks!

- I don't know for sure, but one of my friends took a job in Jordan (from Wisconsin) and checked to see what his shipping cost would be, it amounted to something like $7500. I don't remember the shipping company, but what it amounted to is that it's more practical to sell it and buy another.
- I know it was going to cost me $2200 dollars to ship a 1998 chevy malibu from Virginia to Hawaii. I also remember that I wanted to buy a car from england and they said it will be aproximatly $5000 to ship it from England to Virginia, US. Really unless its a farreri or a lamborgeni just forget about it.
- Did you make aliyah or were you a returning citizen (ie you had Israeli citizenship before living in Israel), and how long have you been living in Israel? There are different rights for olim. Here's what Nefesh B'Nefesh has to say: http://www.nbn.org.il/planning/car_import.htm They used to just flat out say don't do it. It's expensive to get parts and it's always harder than you think it will be. Neil Kummer from Kef International Shipping wrote the summary. He's highly recommended. www.kefintl.com
