Car Shipping and Car Purchase?

I currently live in Orlando, FL. This summer I'm visiting my Dad who lives in San Jose,California. He's going to buy me a car there, and then ship it over there. The only problem is that will they let you ship a car cross country if you're down paymenting it? If the car shipping isn't possible, what would the dealer do to make me having a car in Orlando, Florida possible?

  1. Lucky guy. As long as you have the registration and title, I don't think there would be any legal problems, but why not look for a car at home? Shipping a vehicle is expensive, and if you can find the same one at home, then you could save your dad a grand, easy.
  2. I don't see why they won't let you ship it to anywhere in the country. They are not interested with seeing the car rather than the money. If your payments come off your dad's a/c, there shouldn't be any problem. I am in auto shipping so I know what I am saying here. Normally the dealer will look for a carrier like me to ship it to wherever, or you could contract a carrier yourself and have it delivered to your door.
