What are some good shipping/moving companies that go to Australia?

I have a friend that is planning on moving to Australia soon from the U.S. and he needs to know who the good, reliable and fair-priced movers are. He won't have a lot of things to move, but he still needs some things shipped there. I don't know which city he is moving too, but I could find out. He plans on moving in October (I think). Thanks!

  1. it would be better to find someone in the US to ship his stuff
  2. Hi I brought a 20' shipping container and stored all my gear in it and packing it myself reselling the container on ebay latter and used 5 star shipping.I found their all about the same price really see link. Most people don't take anything to start with selling[yard sales] before they leave if staying permanently due to the high cost of shipping and purchase new stuff is off set with the selling before leaving.
  3. Sup i am not entirely sure. But my dad did live in australia at one point.
  4. you can try asking jetta.com.au. i usually use them for shipping.
  5. It costs a small fortune to move sadly! When I moved I used Mayflower which I found to be a big mistake - they overcharged me by a lot, and once my stuff got here the recieving company (Nuss removals based in Sydney) said they would have shipped the same container by volume, not weight, saving me a couple thousand dollars. Get all the quotes he can before hand, and sell as much as is feasable before moving. Much cheaper to sell furniture etc at a loss or give it away than spend $5 a pound or so to ship it. ANd good luck to him - hope he loves it here!
