- Check the fuses if they ok check you still have a fan belt
- check all the usual, thermo switches, water pump, WATER.
- To see if the problem is a switch or relay use a jumper to bypass everything and hook it directly to the batt. If it doesn't work then the fan itself is bad. Other than that you have a thermal sensor, a relay, and a fuse. A Chiltons or Haynes manual will have all the info you need to trouobleshoot the problem. Or if you contact me I will walk you through it.
- First check your fuse (50Amp) location number S42 if it isn’t ok replace the fuse, if it is ok and you have access to an ohms meter you can check the resistance of the thermo switch, which is located on the radiator half way down the O/S of the rear of the radiator. Connect the meter to 1 and 4 terminals to measure the resistance. The readings should be as following below approx. 103 °C = ∞ above approx 104 °C = 0. If they aren’t ok replace the switch. If they are ok checks the fans by unplugging the fans and give the fans an independent live (with a 50 amp fusible link in the live wire) feed wire and a return (earth), If they don’t run or blow the 50 amp fusible link replace them. if they run they are ok so next check that there is a live feed to pin 1 of the left coolant fan plug. If this ok locate the control unit / relay unplug the control unit and bridge the following contacts with the fusible link terminal D2 to terminal 31 the left coolant fan should run. Terminal 30 to terminal A1 the right coolant fan should run. If they run replace the control unit / relay. If they don’t run then check to see if you have a feed at terminal 30 and a return on terminal 31 of the control unit / relay. If you have either trace along wires until missing feed or return is found and repair wiring.
