Shipping goods from china to canada with ems, how to avoid large fees?

If I am receiving a package from China with EMS, How do I avoid large fees when the package arrives? Is there a way to bypass fees? the package is around 30kg of clothing, should it be sent as a gift, samples or what? There will be a few items of the same type in the box.

1. Several smaller packages are usually less likely to be taxed then sending it as a large package. Same gos for the USA you can get all the small packages you want without being taxed. Just make sure they dont declare the actual amount of the goods when they send it
