eBay: So is it free postage?

I'm new in eBay. I saw this item that caught my eye at a really low price. On the tab whereby it states the postage cost, it actually was free postage to Singapore. I find it quite hard to imagine since I live in Singapore and the location of the buyer is in United States. I clicked on "ask the seller a question" button and asked about shipping cost. He said it is 35 dollars. Why is it stated as free? Is it a mistake or that the seller wants to cheat? This is what is what I see. Postage costs: To Singapore -- FREE USPS First Class Mail InternationalTM Service to Singapore (more services) Or does it apply to "mail" only and not parcel? I'm really confused. On one hand I really want to bid on that item, while on the other, the seller doesn't seem trustworthy with conflicting information.

1. Report the seller to eBay. Don't buy from him.
2. No, the seller must have made a mistake in the listing. He should update the listing now that he knows, or he should at least publish your question. Otherwise I would have doubts about his honesty. Normally, the postage that is displayed is what you pay. They can't just ask for more, unless you make additional requests. Eg if the postage displayed is surface-mail and you want air-mail, or if you want insurance. If you want the item, then bid on it. But you have already been told a postage figure ($35) so you have to be sure that you add that in when calculating the total cost that you will pay. Ebay can take a little getting used to. People like your seller who are either doing the wrong thing, or don't know what they are doing, make it harder.
3. I agree. Now that he knows he made a mistake, he has to update his listing. Otherwise it could be considered fraud. If he hasn't updated it yet, report him. And I wouldn't buy from him. I hope this helps. It's sellers like that who ruin it for the rest of us.
4. He probably didn't set up the page correctly, sometimes it's not as point and click as you'd like. I've had things disappear on me before.
5. Simply ask the seller one more question, "Why does it say that postage to Singapore is free, yet you tell me that it costs $35 to ship it to me in Singapore?" Also, check out his feedback and see if he's been reliable to other buyers. If he has lots of feedback, and almost all of them are positive, you should be safe.
