Can y'all give me some advise on how to put it past the wife that I aim to put a doggie door in the house so 'ol spotty can can come in the house as he pleases? I also been thinkin bout gettin some those segway personal transporters and riggin em up so he dont have to walk every where.Y'all got any other ideas on how I can make 'ol Spotty's life more comfortable? I ask your advise because that ol cayuse has been some good to me and so has 'ol spotty. for those just tunin' in..'Ol Spotty is my workin Cowpony. krissyderic- lol, I do that to people sometimes. - I'm speechless......have no idea how to answer this question Fastergun! Do you have a basement? :):):)
- when she see the 4x8 litter box that will be her first clue
- That is going to be some big doggie door! Good luck with that. How about a hammock and some Chivas Regal? It would work for me. Your ideas give new meaning to the lines "Git along little doggie".
- I'm a old cowgirl bud you might as well hang her up and get you some roller skates. I think you love Ol Spotty ☺
- Well , Fastergu, it's simple, just fix a spot in the barn for yourself and you stay out there with Spotty. See, that wasn't as hard as you think now was it?
- How about putting a radio and television in the barn. My dogs did not like ALL music, but they had their specific tastes. My dogs even likeed some of the television shows. Try it for Ol Spotty. Maybe he'll enjoy radio or TV. You could also move an old regrigerator into the barn, so as you find yourself spending more and more time out there watching TV and playing with your pets, you may want to grab a cold sandwich and a drink.
- To make ole Spotty more comfortable in the house you should let in a few chickens, a cow, a couple of pigs, and a goat or two. Don't worry about having enough room. You are going to be in the dog house anyway !!! :-)
- I am mildly surprised that your wife hasn't already suggested that you just go on and move out to the barn or stables with ol' Spotty! I don't think having his own Segway would be very comfortable for ol' Spotty, there isn't enough room on the personal transporter for all four of his hooves. Maybe you could get ol' Spotty a Segway Robotics Mobility Platform (RMP) instead. I hope you are being as attentive to your dear wife as you are towards ol' Spotty. If not, I fear ol' Spotty may be headed to the glue factory!
- try to appeal to your wife's better side and let her get to know ole spotty first the bond may be so great she will even suggest he comes into the house herself x
- I think the wise thing to do would be fix a small spot up out in the barn for yourself. Maybe an 8X8 insulated room with a tv and recliner, and 'ol Spotty could lay beside you. I am pretty sure the wife would go for that idea.
- It would sure be nice if you could get a helpful man-servant for Ol' Spotty. Someone to do his field chores and help him with whatever he so desires. As a matter of fact, I hear there's a chap that goes by the monicker of Sir Marmalade Beauville-Lobe IV that is for hire. Good luck and I'm sure your wife won't mind (much).
- Redo a Honda Odessey so he can toodle around the fields. Have to leave some space for his front right leg though to ring the bell, same as a tricycle!
- now pull the other leg cayuse/wife
- I'm for pampering our loved ones, but I don't think the wife will go for having a horse ... even a small one in the house. Maybe you can just go out there at night and read to him at night before he goes to sleep. It might be a good idea to bathe each evening after doing so, however, so you won't smell like the barn when it's time to pamper that woman of yours ... she has been very understanding with the car rides compared to the average woman. Think about it and let us know.
- I remember seeing a story on one of the news shows about a couple having a house horse as you suggest ,so it is possible. it could come and go as it pleased. I couldn't find the story on the web but I did find instructions on how to train a horse for that . check link below. They start with a foal but I'm sure you could adapt it for 'ol Spotty.
- I bet you wife may suggest that you bunk with ol Spotty. And I bet Spotty will have somethin to say about the segways.
- BUILD A ROOM ON TO THE BACK OF YOUR MANSION, ADD A/C AND HEAT, PIPE IN SOME MUSIC (WHATEVER 'OL SPOTTY LIKES), SHUCKS IT'LL EVEN BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE IF YOU WORD IT RIGHT.
- Horses are wonderful pets but horsesh@t stinks. Leave Ol Spotty in the barn.
- What on earth made you think qualified for a senior citizen to ask. You need to call your local animal shelter and ask them how to convince your wife to let Spotty come and go as he pleases. Or on second thought, you could bring Scotty in the house and put "mama" in the barn? The only other option is for you to sleep in the barn with Spotty so he will not be so lonesome. Then he will know where your loyalty lies. Good luck to you and Spotty. Sounds like ya'll have been through a lot together...lol :)
- Ole Spotty should have a swinging door into that barn- so he can go out anytime he pleases... to the pasture! That would keep him happy. Really- I had three horses for so many years- and kept them out in pasture- they had a good run-in shed for shelter. I was so surprised at how little time they ever spent in the shed! Even up here in the icebox of America! The most time spent in the shed was in the heat of the summertime. They would be in there all day- and go out at night. They were easy to catch when we wanted them, I kept the practice of graining them a bit so all I'd have to do is call to them and they'd come running! It was pretty funny. Amazing, just how tough animals are! And yes, SPotty would just love the Segway- I'd bet anything! I can picture it now! And you ought to make him some carrot cake too. With peppermint in the frosting.
- Well ponys arent so big, I have a friend who had a sheep in the house for years(when she and kiddies were young)however her horse just came in from the field and would stick his head all the way in the kitchen window to see what was going on inside. Afew times he tried to come through the sliding glass door lol, true story I saw it with my own eyes many times.
- You can always put your wife in the barn, she might enjoy the sounds and smells of nature. Then you and ol spotty would have the entire house all to yourselves. lol
- Faster, Doesn't spotty have a gal? or a mule or anybody? We love our pets something awful too I'm with you...I don't think he would like it in the house though, you know it too..He has gotta get him some..a goat, or some company, that will do it! it's got to be Equine tho! Let me know, your just pulling our legs though!
