Had an item shipped UPS that was incorrectly routed. Can I get a shipping refund?

Ordered a gift for someone and had it sent UPS ground. It was routed incorrectly and now I won't get it until next week. Is there a chance I can get a refund on my shipping charges?

1. Unless it was guaranteed to arrive by a certain date I would say your chances of a refund are somewhere between slim to none.
2. That is the cheapest way to ship and there is no guaranteed date on shipping that way. They usually do it right but there is probably back up because of the holidays if it was a normal week it would have been probably be there Friday.
