UPS Shipping Question, What is considered "end of day"?

So, what is considered "end of day"? When I calculated shipping and time, it said it would be there by the end of the day. Is there a cut-off time? Does UPS stop delivering at a certain time, and if so, what is that time?

3. (Married to a UPS guy) The end of day means when the packages are all delivered. The only reason it wouldn't be is due to an incorrect address. End of day --- this time of year -- can be as late as 8 or 9 o'clock. We're getting down to the wire, folks! Better start 3-day shipping for guaranteed delivery by Xmas! Good luck!
4. The UPS delivered to my house around 4. But then I saw a UPS truck around my neighborhood like around 7:30 P.M. So i'm not really sure when they usually stop delivering... Mainly it is like until 5 P.M. unless they have tons of stuff that has to be delivered on that specific day.
