In my job as department manager for a small company, I deal with shipping for a major portion of my day. Over the past several months, UPS Ground and UPS Freight have started to really cause me headaches. Multiple damaged, late, and lost shipments have caused us massive embarrassment in front of our customers and plenty of extra work for my staff and I. It's getting ridiculous. We had one pail of product shipped to us in California from a vendor in New Jersey--it arrived damaged, so we sent it back. I got a call today from UPS, saying that on the way back they completely destroyed it, and will have to dispose of it (second time's the charm, I guess). Lost shipments, misrouted shipments, late shipments--it all impacts the bottom line. Our UPS Freight account rep came in to apologize and brought pizza for everyone, but pizza doesn't address the root cause of the mistakes. Has anyone else noticed this with UPS lately? Do you know of any corporate service rating websites?
