Who out there has an Ebay store? Shipping costs?
I was thinking about setting up an Ebay store to sell some crafts, clothes, antiques, etc. I was wondering about the shipping costs on some items. They seem too high. Are some sellers tacking on extra for some extra$$? And how do they know what the shipping rate will be anyway? I know I've gotten things that in no way cost as much to ship as the seller quoted.

- Yes, shipping can always be the scam part of a sale. Most items only cost a few cents to a dollar to ship, yet the seller will charge up to 10 bucks for shipping. If it will fit in the box there are flat rate shipping packages that cost between 4,95 and 8.95 to ship any weight. You can get them from the post office.
- Shipping cost on ebay do not just reflect shipping, they also reflect handling, labor, time, and materials.
- Shipping cost estimations are available at www.ups.com or www.usps.com depends on your shipping preference. UPS provides a tracking number and it's very handy if the customer wants shipping status. You need to pay extra for a tracking number if you ship USPS. However, they offer flat right shipping. If your item is small enough to fit in a flat right priority mail envelope, the cost is only $4.6 plus $0.65 for delivery confirmation, or add $2.10 for signature confirmation. Sometimes the cost the seller quoted you is the shipping cost plus handling fee. So shipping might vary through different sellers. I hope this helps.
