  1. EBay is connected to www.usps.com (or the calculate shipping button). I have found it easier to get a postage calculator. I found it is ALOT easier to ship Priority Mail because you can go to the Post Office (or on line) and get boxes for free. Anything a pound or under is shipped 2-3 days for only $4.05 and it goes up from there. It is easier to have them caculate shipping from their zip code. You can also let them pick if they want Priorty Mail, Express Mail or Parcel Post. I don't do that because it is easier for me to just ship Priorty Mail. I even print the shipping labels at home (ebay directs you to the site to print out your labels after you sell something) You can even go online to have the packages picked up from your house. You can only do this with smaller packages/items. Larger packages (over a certin size/weight) you will have to take to the post office.
  2. I also use the shipping calculator found on ebay and I really like the previous answer about shipping Priority Mail. On your sell page, put that you will only send your items priority mail. I also usually add a handling charge of a dollar or so for the packaging, time I've spent taking the items to the post office, etc. And if you have a larger item, you can take it to the post office, have them weigh it and give you exact shipping rates. When you're selling items, it helps to have more than one really good picture of it on your sell page. I found this article below that gave some tips on taking ebay pics...
