what kind of shipping containers do people use to ship necular waste and other hazerdous waste in?
What is the material these shipping containers are made of. How much do they cost each, who are the mfg. thanks

- First requirement of a container is that it must shield humans from radiation. The material that is used depends on the type of radioactive material. If the waste is a neutron emitter, a good portion of it will be made of hydrogen dense material, like some plastics or even water. Gamma ray emitters will be make of beryllium or lead. In any case, the packaging will be made of sturdy material to prevent damage and leakage, normally steel. They will be pressure sealed and have many markings and labelings on the outside. There are many different types of containers, many custom designed for the specific application (material, activity, gov't requirements).
