How long would it take to travel around the world without car/air transport?
I am just wondering the only transportation you can use is walking, swimming, boats, horses NO cars, trains, air transport e.t.c i mean from south pole to north pole so not really all the way round.

- 88 days, haven't you seen the movie?
- like.... really long.
- 44 days then I would imagine
- 3 years
- what kind of question is this?
- The Earth isn't a perfect sphere, so this tends to make calculations tricky, however, let's just assume it is. From pole to pole, the Earth is 12,714 km. So all the way around (circumference), it would be 33,942 km. Because we're only going half, we'll divide in in two: 19,971 km. Time is distance divided by speed, so, hypothetically speaking, if you were to walk the entire distance at 1 metre per second (3.6 km/h), this would take 5,548 hours, or 231.14 days - that is, walking non-stop. Considering you'd have to take breaks and sleep - it would probably take you over a year.
- 80 days
- adj has the right idea, but time to climb mountain ranges, swim rivers, take breaks, health problems, I'd put it closer to 2 years.
