Location Transport

I work at a hospital as a transporter what can I do to advance?

I work at a hospital as a patient transporter I want to move up, be able to do more and possibly make more money. What certifications (or anything like that) can I get to help me advance?

  1. Attend college at night and study nursing, pay is good and nurses are in big demand.
  2. Most hospitals post job openings. Check it as often as you can. Go to the HumanResources Department tosee if anything that interest you is posted.
  3. If you want to stay in healthcare, many hospitals (not sure if your's does or not) pay for continuing education, as long as it's a degree, skill, certification, that they can use in their hospital. If your hospital doesn't offer that kind of program, or a tuition reimbursement, or paying for the education with a committment to come work for them for a certain amount of years, go to another that does. Or approach your administration about getting one. Nursing is a good field. Pays fairly decently, pretty much guarantees a job, and a whole lot of room for advancement and expansion. Hope that helps.
