Will be starting work in Al-Ghurair centre. Rent in AL-Nahda/Gusais or International City? No car!Thnks v much

Transport Situation: I have a UK and US licence but no British or US Passport so have to get Bus transport(sigh!) till I get my UAE licence hopefully in 3 months and then a car?! Sarkar: Thanks for your answer. Please note that you cannot convert UK/US licence to UAE licence unless you have a UK/US Passport as well. Don't understand the sense in that: If you have met the requirements of the licence issuer, then why should your passport matter?

1. You don't have to have a UK/US passport to validate the UK/US license. You should be able to convert the license without any problem. Gusais is a slightly cheaper place to stay in terms of rent - also you can look for car-lift arrangements. Convenient busses available from Al-Ghurair to Gusais.
