Location Transport

I am looking for cheap and easy transport back and forth work, busses are unreliable?

I have started work at a family pub / resturante about 10 miles from where I live but most of the time I finish long after the busses do. How do I go about getting a Provisional Licence for a scooter and the CBT. After obtaining the CBT, would I be able to ride the scooter on the road with L plates but no Instructor with me. I currently have a Provisional Drivers Licence for a car but, the nearest test centre is not accepting bookings for a while due to test centre relocation.

1. Go to another test centre, you will be able to locate them on the web site, and book a test at a time to suit you. OR get a push bike, exercise will do you good!!
2. are you fit you could try a push bike!! Am sure that if the engine size of the scooter is low (not sure whar size exactly) then you can ride without an instructor as long as you display your l plates. Good luck with it.
3. you need to co a CBT ,its not a test, just basic training so you don't go out an kill yourself, A CBT lasts two years. You can ride any Bike up to a 125cc on your CBT. A good second hand scooter will set you back about £500 to £600. I suggest a Vespa PX125, They are easy to ride, good on fuel, reliable and carry a spare tyre.
4. bike, walk, skates not to expensive yet.
5. You need to make sure that you have motorcycle entitlement on your provisional license (Category A)
6. You do have to pass your CBT before going on the road where abouts do you live? there are usually a lot test centres about. if you look at www.thescooterandbikeshop.co.uk they have brand new scooters from £650 on the road and ready to go, they do about 100mpg and insurance is good. any advice give the scooter and bike shop a call 07988906662, they are always glad to help.
7. you ride 10 miles to work 10 miles back from work thats 20 miles a day,provided you go nowhere else,get a scooter,but light it up like a christmas tree,you and the scooter,and big rear view mirrors,because with all the cars,trucks,and busses on the highway,and that don't included the drunks,drug addicts,and loose nuts behind the wheel.because the last thing they say i didn't see him.welcome to the real world,i say go for it live life with gusto to the fullest.
8. With a cbt license you can ride a 125 cc max . There are alot on the market if style and street cred are not important, then get yourself a honda c90 ( cub ) these are an absolute marvel of engineering they are cheap to buy , run, repair and easy to nip around on , and they DON`T breakdown.
