Why do men have to get there testicles grabbed for a department of transportation physical?
I understand about getting a health check to drive a truck. I dont understand when they grab the scrodum. Isnt hernia form above the penis anyhow? How did this become routine? How come females dont get checked like males do?

- They just wanted to make sure you had them before proceeding. Apparently it wasn't obvious.
- men of any occupation have to have a testicular exam during ANY physical. It doesn't matter if your a mailman or sitting at a desk typing all day, it's not that your job requires it, more that it is general practice for all physicals. and women do get similar exams, it's called a pap smear, and it is much more invasive.
- A job requires a plain physical, and that physical includes grabbing the scrotum, so you have to do that.
- females dont get checked???try having ur cervix dialated and scraped once a year for life, not to mentioned ur boobs squeezed flat by 2 metal plates-thats a gyn check and a mammogram, and im sure ur company does require @ least the mammogram-but what woman would talk about her internal/breast exams with a bunch of truckers?not likely.yes,u are being checked for a hernia, but not only that-ur also being checked for testicular cancer, and u should be glad theyre looking for it.its serious, can be deadly and is often overlooked.i know u feel violated, but it cant be any worse than laying on a table with a cold metal speculum inside,so quit ur whining.bodies require routine checks,tune-ups and maintenance, just like ur truck.also, get used to it,the older u get,the more u will have to get checked-prostate problems, angiograms and ,colonoscopies and so on.-part ofg being alive is having a body that u have to maintain.it isnt fun,it isnt easy-but early detection of various illnesses can keep u ALIVE-so,grin and bear it!!!!!
- Testicular cancer is the most common cancer for men between the ages of 15 and 45. The only way to detect this early (when you have a 100% survival rate) is by doing a check that involves "grabbing" them.
