Immortality and physics? Is the concept of immortality true or exist in human? Does the concept of brain transplant or transfer soul exist? Can immortality be processed by technology or physics? Additional Details 12 hours ago I learn that immortality exists in humans. It is termed reincarnation in Buddhism. In the Buddhist scripture, it mentioned or believes in reincarnation. But I learn that reincarnation is not natural but done with a Buddhist monk who will temporarily store or take your soul. Then some part of your brain or fluid of your brain is preserved and it is transferred to another human being by a professional or a doctor. I know even this technique is used in the public but it is not widely discussed. Because you see the person who receives your reincarnation or your soul dies. That is why it is not widely accepted in the Medical community or the religious community. Another thing, I don't recall exactly it was a dream, but I saw they unwind fiber optics from a person's brain and reads what they see in their life then transfer this consciousness to another body. I think brain transplant or soul transfer is real. 18 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. - 6 answers - Report Abuse Answer this Question Add/Save Add to private Watchlist Save to My Web Add to Del.icio.us Add to My Yahoo! Rabbit Hole edition, because in it they discuss how you can allow a spirit to use your body by willingly changing your state of mind. Not to sound dualistic but immortality is seen by the public eye as death, of the body.... but where does the spirit go? Conciousness is not a tangable thing, how do we know it left one? Quantum physics.... the physics of possibilities... and it sums up that nothing is impossible. Source(s): What the Bleep DO We Know?! You cant escape your souls allways gonna be there and alive, practicly, we are just souls that have been many a place and have now landed in this being. Hope it helps. However, nothing lasts forever. Forever or eternity is unfathomable to the human mind. The only thing that lasts forever is time itself. 18 hours ago - Report Abuse 0 0 by God 18 hours ago Answer hidden due to its low rating Show Total rating: 0 0 0 Answer hidden due to its low rating Hide User Question/Answer Information gleemonex69Member since: November 01, 2006 Total points: 895 (Level 2) Points earned this week: --% Best answer gleemonex69 http://login.yahoo.com/?.pd=c%3d1MKJL2Wp2e6fd5g2kpFG6jM-&.intl=us&.src=knowsrch&.done=http%3A%2F%2Fanswers.yahoo.com%2Fquestion%2Findex%3Fqid%3D20070623184747AA8RnIC I think that immortality and physics is very intriguing. Being that we last so short of a time compared to the rest of the cosmos can make one think that if we were somehow connected to it, then we could live almost forever until our elementary particles decomposed. And since we know that half-lives of many particles, one can also think that if we were pure energy we could theoretically live forever! But who would want to be immortal? I think that one will get bored once you know everything and seen everything. It is at this point that we will search for death and it will not come. Source(s): This is the kind of thinking that kept me away from the really good schools. 18 hours ago - Report Abuse 0 0 by gleemonex69 18 hours ago Answer hidden due to its low rating Show Total rating: 0 0 0 Answer hidden due to its low rating Hide User Question/Answer Information MaxieMember since: June 19, 2007 Total points: 113 (Level 1) Points earned this week: --% Best answer Maxie http://login.yahoo.com/?.pd=c%3d1MKJL2Wp2e6fd5g2kpFG6jM-&.intl=us&.src=knowsrch&.done=http%3A%2F%2Fanswers.yahoo.com%2Fquestion%2Findex%3Fqid%3D20070623184747AA8RnIC Depends what source of "immortality" you mean. If you mean if you can live forever in your body, it is not likely possible right now. Our bodies ware out as does our heart. That is why we die. There is this thing happing where you can have your brain cryogenicilly (sp?) frozen so in the future once the technology becomes available they'll be able to "grow" you a new body. But "defrosting" our brains might have damage cause tissue damage. Soul in my opinion described as how we think and who we are, which are just brain waves (how we think), and if those can be replicated or "saved" on to something (like a hard drive for example, or chip) it could be possible to transfer it. If you've ever seen "John Doe" in one episode it was shown like that. And even in an episode of "Batman Beyond." Our bodies are just vessels for our brains, our heart is just how we survive. If we could find a way for a machine to to connect to our brain, then it would be possible. I saw on i think it was Daily Planet that a paralyzed man moved a pointer on a computer by having an antenna attached and connect to his brain. The whole point of reproducing is so we can adapt to our environment. How do you think cockroaches survived the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs? In conclusion, we do not have the technology to keep our brains alive in machines, yet. To your iPod comment, a) there is not nearly enough space to make a whole brain wave pattern on a few hundred gigs let alone a thirty gig. It being stored on it wouldn't make it alive. Only if it could be interpreted through something compatible and be conscience, then yes it could be alive. 18 hours ago - Report Abuse 0 0 by Maxie 18 hours ago Answer hidden due to its low rating Show Total rating: 0 0 0 Answer hidden due to its low rating Hide User Question/Answer Information Happy CamperMember since: October 23, 2006 Total points: 2,733 (Level 4) Points earned this week: --% Best answer Happy Camper http://login.yahoo.com/?.pd=c%3d1MKJL2Wp2e6fd5g2kpFG6jM-&.intl=us&.src=knowsrch&.done=http%3A%2F%2Fanswers.yahoo.com%2Fquestion%2Findex%3Fqid%3D20070623184747AA8RnIC Not even close. Uploading everything in your brain to your IPod would not make it alive. There are many ways to conceptually approach this topic. Star Trek transporters, time machines, computer brain implants, astral projection of the consciousness into an electronic device or robot; in all cases, Physics does not have the answers. What I learn is that your true you or your true self is not necessary your body but your soul. And your soul cannot exist without the brain. And since a human body can normally live to 100 years old. So if a person wants to live more he has to reincarnate or soul transfer. Brain transplant was discovered by Frankenstein, but today they improve it by only taking part of your brain like a little fluid in your brain then transfer to a different person. Now he can continue to live. I know this man whom people said he was God. And he is smart. When he flies on an airplane, he carries with him a special helmet. So in case the airplane crashes, then if his body is burned or destroy, then his head is still in tact with the helmet because his helmet is made of special material so it won't be burned. So his soul or his brain can be saved and be transferred to a different person. So he could live.
