Department of transportation, Do they work late at night?

The NCdot, do they work late nights? like 2 and 3 in the morning?

1. I'm sure. If there is a special building project, many times they will work all night when the road isn't being used by commuters. The "Department of Transportation" in every state does their best not to disrupt traffic.
