Should I get The Sims 2 and expansions?

Hopefully, I'll get a $100 Amazon gift card, and I'm planning on getting The Sims 2 and Open for Business expansion, and possibly University expansion. Everything round up, all three games will cost about $90, free Super Saver shipping. I was wondering whether I should get The Sims 2 and expansions. I'm a major fan of the first series; now, I'm moving on to bigger and better things. Should I get Sims 2? Why?

Yes. If you know what TS1 is like, the Sims 2 is BETTER! Better graphics, better characters, better ways to create a Sim, better EVERYTHING! And you should save up to buy Nighlife as well, because it's an excelent game.

yea totally...if u like the 1st one...you'll LOVE then 2nd...now i've never played the expansions... so no advice on those but totally go for the game! it Rox my Sox!
Yes - but I would choose Nightlife and Open for Business for the expansions - not University. I barely utilize the University Expansion compared to how much I utilize NL and OFB.

If you're a fan of the original game, you'll LOVE Sims 2!! (of course, that's assuming that you have a decent computer that won't lag terribly when you play the game). I have Sims 2, Nightlife, and Open for Business. Nightlife is cool because they finally have their own cars, but I haven't really played OFB much. Seems kind of tedious. I'm hoping that they'll bring back the pets in the next expansion pack!
