Location Transport

I have a VW Transporter from 94 T4 diesel model,it has problems starting but as soon as i spray a start gas in

the van starts immedietley and continues no problem the whole day.If i stop it starts at once but then when i leave it overnight it has difficulty startin immediatley in the morning. Not every morning.Could the problem be with a clogged air filter?

  1. your problem is heater plugs!! change them and youll have no more probs!! diesel plugs need to be heated before they do their job and they like most things need replacing!!
  2. once you start using easystart you will have to keep using it
  3. That is the worst thing you could have done, easy start is addictive, your engine will need a fix every time now.You should have checked your glow plugs first, they will need renewing.
  4. starting fluid in a diesel is additive to the engine. overhaul it and start over.
  5. If you park the van on the level or front end facing up hill then it could be an air leak in the fuel line, if this is the case try parking it front end looking downhill if you can, if that cures prob then look at all joints on fuel line and 'paint' with thick Fairy Liquid and see where fairy gets 'sucked in' so to speak... All that said it probably is the glow plugs, if you're in doubt stick a new air filter in, diesels like to breathe easily saves fuel and cuts the black smoke, also give it a new fuel filter, cheap and easy to change. Stop using the Easy Start it's like a drug for a Wiesel.... Good luck, Gizz..........
