What do you think about funding regional transportation projects with small increases sales tax?

Across CA for sure, but probably in other areas of the US too, voters are approving small increases in sales tax to fund major transportation project. Are you happy with how these projects are turning out? Do you think this is a good idea, in general? Any concerns that it is a regressive tax? Should gas tax be raised instead? Any other thought or ideas?

  1. If Govs. cut out all the bull from their budgets all could be done that govs main reason for being was.

It's a good use of the sales tax, subsidized public transportation especially in large cities is okay for several reasons: It takes some cars off the streets thus helping the congestion problems, it provides a means for the public to get back and forth from their employment, it's a way for people to get out and about to visit any number of areas. It provides jobs for bus personnel. Many of these examples enables people using public transport get out and spread money around which helps the city's economy because they get a lot of the sales tax back in the form of increased business.
