Location Transport

My brake lights do not work on a vw 1.9tdi 1999 transporter, i would like to know the fuse box layout ?

I have tried the bulbs and the brake light indicator on the brake pedal, my only other shot is the fuse but i do not have the layout.

  1. try googleing it!
  2. This is spooky, just sent an email to our insurers informing them we have hired a VW 1.9TDI Transporter, come onto Yahoo answers and the first question I see is about a VW Transporter !!!! ooooo Sorry I cannot be any help though
  3. fuses should have been first place to look and really it only take 5 minutes to pull one at time til you find one burned looking or broken center..pull one look at it good push it back in bad replace it
  4. From memory both brake lights are not on the same fuse, they split them diagonally so if one fuse goes you still have one light. If you have a voltmeter see if you have 12 V at the brake light switch. Good luck, Gizz.
  5. There should be a diagram for the fuses on the back of the fusebox cover. You probably already know, but they are behind the small pocket below and to the right of the steering wheel. Just turn the black knob. However, the switch at the brake pedal is the most likely cause of your problem.
  6. Hi The fuse you are after is fuse number 20, If you look at the fuses with a torch you should see the fuse number next to where they push in to the fuse box. It will probably be the 3rd fuse in from the right hand side and it should be a red 10 amp fuse. Note the brake lights are only protected by one fuse which covers both rear brake lights and the high level brake light Hope this helps kind regards Technical
