Cheapest way to transport a car?

I am looking for a car transport from the east cost to Chicago. I was even thinking of doing my self with a rented truck and a car trailor. anyone know what the different prices would be?

1. you can have it shipped for about $700 which is about the same a truck and car transporter would cost from Uhaul. ebay motors has 4 carriers listed ranging from about $700 to $1400.
2. If you are going to drive and waste Gas why not just drive the vehicle. Why pay for trailer, and a gas guzzler truck to pull and car that will probably get better gas mileage. It is not a very long distance so, Just drive your car. You asked for the cheapest way? right?
