What kind of transportation did people use during the US civil war times?

transportation as in everyday transportation..? also what money system did they use? like did the north and south have the same currency/ how valuable would one dollar now be then?

What would cost $1.00 in 1865 would cost approximately $13.50 in today's dollar. Or, what you might pay $1.00 for in today's money would cost about 8-10 cents in 1865.
