Transportation from Halifax Airport to Sydney?

I will be arriving at the Halifax airport around 3pm and need some kind of transportation to Sydney. Acadian lines looks like they only allow for booking in-person and there are no ticket sales at the airport. Anyone have any ideas for me? I'm leaving in a few days and getting a little nervous. Do I need to call the bus company to make sure that they will stop at the airport? I heard that sometimes they don't unless you call them.

  1. Hi Annelise! You can purchase your ticket on the bus, it'll be $65 one way ($55 if you're a student) or $111 return ($94 if you're a student) (plus tax of course...) and your bus will leave the airport at 4:55 pm, arriving in Sydney at 11:10 pm. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas! (EDIT- That Acadian Lines run has a regularly scheduled stop at the Airport) Here's their website: http://www.acadianbus.com/en/index.asp
  2. There are also some private shuttle services - they're provincially licensed, so they're legal and safe - which operate between Halifax and Sydney. I don't know any names, so you might look at the airport website (flyhalifax.com) or research Sydney shuttles (and make sure you mean Sydney, Nova Scotia, not Australia. You might also check with Check Inns - there's a website and a toll free number. The price would probably be the same, but they don't make stops in all the little communities, so would be faster.
